I understand your concern. I wouldn’t be criticising their spelling in the main body of the post, but at the very least they should be spell checking the title. An occasional typo is usually forgiving but if the Lemmy feed is showing a post with many spelling mistakes it’s not going to go down well.

Learning spelling and ensuring it is correct is part of learning a language.

If I was posting in a Chinese forum, I would be very careful to ensure the Chinese characters are correct. Differences in minor radicals can make all the difference, e.g. 慢 and 漫 are distinctively different words. It’s a different kind of spell checking.

Half your posts are specific questions to a specific game which could be answered by searching Google. Such posts do not promote open discussion.

And you might need to check your spelling a bit.

If you had a post like ‘I really love Red Dead Redemption 2 (note spelling is correct here) for (insert mission here)’, other Lemmy users might chime in with their own favourites.

So you need to curate your posts a bit. Maybe stick to commenting for the time being.

I’ve got two F710s and they’re reliable enough. I wouldn’t trust them in pro gaming though.

If I got in the sub and saw one of these used to steer it, I’d be very concerned. I know they’re not really blaming Logitech; just taking one of these out of the plastic packaging and saying ‘OK, now we’ve got steering and propulsion!’ is not really a safety culture to get behind.

I agree CCTV is a bit invasive…depends on the tenants! If I were a landlord with some tenants of concern, I’d have washing machines facing away from CCTV so no laundry is on camera!

‘Free laundry machines’ could essentially be included in the rent, provided laundry machines are used properly and intentional damage paid for. I would be okay with CCTV being employed to ensure this. An extra $10 for water usage, and everyone uses their own detergent.

But does that make sense for capitalists?

I’ve seen Fedora lauded for being so responsive, and I’d probably go for that over the super bloated Ubuntu. I know it’s not debloated either but that is preferable over dealing with Arch which needs a lot of tinkering time which eats into my work time.

YouTube already did the math, as did almost every single company and corporation on the planet.

There’s a lot more revenue in advertising than subscriptions, especially on a website that started off entirely free (so Netflix for example goes in the subscription model rather than the advertising model but that seems to have changed!)

There’s a mass of people who follow up on these advertisements. The latest advertisements I’ve encountered on YouTube are really really calculated and well scripted. For example the digital dollar advertisements sound like they’re going to save you from financial ruin. It’s clever and it’s working. Money is pouring in.

The Chinese consumers have been eating up ads like that for their TVs to power on for roughly half a decade at least. I’m talking Xiaomi. Chinese consumers are the perfect ad(shit)-eating consumer; so docile and they like to burn money (I mean, they do…literally).

Saved, this is a large list and not just recent bestsellers. Definitely worth its salt.

It got on the news. They sacrificed their jobs for that at least.

I had the same thought lately that I just want a story based game to play, relax, maybe strategise a bit, like Baldurs Gate.

If free speech requires everyone who makes a statement or belief to engage in debate about it, I don’t believe it would work very well.

I saw the video about a year ago, the one posted by gamma on this thread and the general summary I got from the video is that:

1. For the immense time and expertise these children are putting into the game, they get a very small cut. And their social life and education will probably suffer so hey!
2. A job comes with security and rights. These children get no rights as they are not on contract.
3. There are predators on Roblox which the company is overlooking (as they are making huge games there, like the Sonic the Hedgehog Roblox game).

It’s a very grey area that isn’t regulated well.

I love lawful neutral. That made me chuckle.
