1 year agoI have the blue dial, metal bracelet version of that, and it was my favorite beater watch until it died and wouldn’t restart with a new battery.
It’s still in my dead-Casio collection, along with my CMD-10 and CMD-30 TV “Remote Commanders” from high school, and my DBC-150 which likely still has my high-school sweetheart (now my wife) phone number in it. LOL, I was such a prankster with those tv-remote watches.
One thing that struck me, watching Alone In The Wilderness 1 & 2, was how infrequently Dick wore a watch. It makes sense when you think about it, what with him not having to adhere to a strict schedule very often, and frequently doing the type of labor where a watch could be broken or become a safety liability. He only seems to wear a watch when he’s not doing any harder labor.
God I love those documentaries; Mr. Proenneke was a real one.
