If you look quite closely, you’ll see the watch in OPs picture is upside down. The crown is on the left side and you can just begin to make out a logo at the bottom. That explains why there’s no date where you think it should be.
I also think this may specifically be something like the WAY201B, which does have slightly thicker indices.
Personally I don’t think the bracelet looks integrated in the photo at all, so I can’t really comment on that.

I’d bet a lot of people using that line are just trying to justify the expensive purchase to themselves.
The buyers that genuinely only see the watch as an investment would be keeping it in original packaging in a lockbox somewhere, not posting wrist picks on Reddit.
