Holy crap. Well that explains a lot with that memory. Dad used to read a ton of sci-fi. I was actually just commenting about Larry Niven and my dad in another post, The one that was asking why nobody has redone Dante’s inferno in the 20th century.

e: I think he either must have read me the story or paraphrased it to me when I was younger, I’m going to have to bring this up next time we’re having a meal together lol. I read the entire short story you posted (very short! Fair enough, I’m still trying to figure out most of them myself. It’s just the first first distro I used that my son set up for me. It’s a gaming oriented Fedora with KDE and comes preloaded with stuff for playing games. It did seem like it was working pretty well for a lot of stuff, but I went against my son’s advice and started trying to learn the terminal and borked some stuff, so he switched me to vanilla Fedora and now I’m missing stuff I need to run some of the games. I don’t know if anybody else has used it much it that has had any experience. Like I said I’m only on my second distro myself.

Well I don’t even know if it’s a joke, but just something about Superman’s spunk traveling as fast as he can, and how it would wreak havoc during some intimate moments causing some carnage or something to that extent. I don’t even know. Maybe it’s just something my dad was joking about when I was younger.

Not sure if you’ve got one, but I do believe I’ve heard it’s supposed to be healthier for the prostate to occasionally empty that thing. Another part of the body that seems to break down as one ages. Don’t judge me, It’s for my health!

I was playing guild wars 2 basically all through my tethered Android with a third-party app, needless to say, I wasn’t always top choice for raids simply because of my latency. And my skill. And my build. And my attention span. LOL. My dumbass played for about 2 and 1/2, 3 years maybe, and probably dropped over a grand on silly mount skins, toon and inv slots and all the other various upgrades. I felt better doing it though knowing that the game itself wasn’t actually pay to win and had no monthly fees. I should really get back into that game. I have been away far too long from mistlock sanctuary :p

I’d like to have some home network type of deal set up, I’ve been meaning to look into that. Self-hosting comm more. I don’t really have Internet right now though, aside from my cell phone, so I’m not sure if that would put a damper on things.

I’ve never actually read the original Dante, but my dad was really big into science fiction novels when he was younger and had a copy of this. I was bored one night and decided the cover looked interesting, and it was about hell so that sounded pretty cool as a teenager. I thought it was pretty neat, although I don’t remember much of it or the ending, but remember thinking it was so cool. I bought a copy used later but never actually reread it. Maybe I should bust it out and see if I just have rose colored glasses on from the nostalgia factor. Granted, I’m not well versed in much of the other author’s work either. I know my dad has a shit ton of Niven still in the basement along with a bunch of other authors of sci-fi. I’m sure there’s probably better work out there by both of them. Come to think of it as he’s getting older. He’s been talking about what he’s going to do with all his science fiction novels. He doesn’t want to leave a whole bunch of shit around after he goes for his family to have to clean up. Maybe I should pick up the reading hobby I used to have that kind of fell away, and find out for myself.
