For everyone that is complaining here - back in the 90s and 2000s, how many times do you remember seeing a player hang on and do a pull up on the rim? If you can’t remember, the answer is never. Because it was a technical foul. And all of them managed to land just fine without injury. Doing a chin up on the rim is not part of the game and it never has been. Get over it
