5·8 days agoI’d rather have a colleague I have to sit down with and work on a problem for a few hours than one who is like the one you described. In the end it will still be net positive because we work as a team, we both know and understand the solution, if anyone of us was hit by a bus the product would still be maintained. Given we both know our shit and are at least good at what we are doing. There are very special cases where a prodigy, regardless of character, might be needed but most of the time, hire the people who are good, cooperative and have the social capability to bring up problems in a meaningful way.

I can’t say this enough. Back up all your data that is in any way in contact with us companies. If you use any software, cloud or on prem, back up that data in a universal format. Imagine there are sanctions and you are cut off from that service, plan for this scenario.
Of course you should already have backups in place but add the scenario that you suddenly may not be able to use any us based service or software.
A lot of people just use “the cloud” as backup.
