Or, at the very least, let him pass you straight into the help defense.
“When the team leaders play bad, the team looks bad,” seems a bit obvious.
The cracks are Wiggins and Thompson.
The Warriors have more picks available for a trade, so that’d be LeBron going to them.
Who do the Warriors send for him? Klay and one of the young guys like Kuminga? Chris Paul a young guy or two and a ton of picks?
It seems like it’d be way too expensive to actually pull off - killing the Warriors’ depth.
Klay’s always been a slow starter, so it’s hard to gauge, but this could be the end of his time as a starter level player.
I think the Warriors will keep starting him anyway, but it might be worthwhile to give the young guys some of his minutes.

How is getting 19 points unstoppable? He was 7 for 16 on the night and five of those points were at the line where he was 5 of 9.
5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 turnovers.
That’s not a great night for a star player.
Warriors shot so dang badly and still kept in the game. No idea what to make of them.
Why would that point apply to the Warriors and not the Lakers or the Clippers?
Kings are the only young team.
And haven’t the Warriors won the most recent championship of the four?
Yuck - no.
Kyrie’s that guy who can make anyone look stupid - but not always. And while his bag is stupidly deep, if you’re not fooled, he’s not beating you.
That’s Kyrie’s weakness. He can’t beat you if you’re not caught out of position. That’s why he can’t lead a team - he can’t be that scoring leader against playoff level defense that is disciplined enough to stay in front of him no matter what.
He needs somebody else taking some of the defensive focus off of him because doubles and help defense work really well against him. That’s why he was in the perfect spot alongside LeBron - the defense absolutely couldn’t key in on him. They knew he was dangerous, but they couldn’t treat him like the primary threat.
Luka makes shots in spite of doubles and help defense.
I’m expecting teams will figure out how to get him into foul trouble quick and tire him out like crazy.
I actually find it surprising that Booker isn’t on that list.
Back when the Suns sucked, they leaned on him super heavily and every now and again he’d have a monster game. It actually surprises me that there weren’t two in a year for any of those seasons.
Went and looked, and two 50 point games in a season is the best he’s done like that. The season he scored 70 he didn’t clear 39 any other time.
Yeah - I’m honestly surprised. I remember thinking he was just the best player on a bad team who could go off on the odd occasion, but I’m really surprised it didn’t happen as often as I’d thought.
McGee just needed the right coaching. Once he got to the Warriors, he started being just a guy you were glad to have on the roster. Lakers loved him after that. He’s just not that guy anymore - and the change really was just better coaching.
