  • Let’s break this down and look at it a different way.

If my hobby were shooting guns and I were to set up a shooting range in my garage and I killed a neighbor, am I responsible?

If my hobby were fireworks and I was making them in my kitchen and burned down my apartment building killing 3 people, am I to blame?

The driver is engaging in a dangerous hobby in a reckless manner. We all know racing is dangerous because people die even in controlled conditions. We know he is being reckless because he is not racing in a place designed for it. When you put others in harms way based on your own stupidity, you face consequences.

  • I’m in a similar boat. Over an hour commute, younger kids with afterschool activities 4 days a week. A wife has a full-time job, luckily, she finally finished her master’ so we reclaimed Saturdays and I’m not running the taxi service solo.

Shit is exhausting, but I am glad our daughters got to see their mom a accomplished something so huge, and I’m proud to have supported her along the way.

  • my kid was playing on a swing in a community park in a neighboring town (an expensive place to live). She found a big baggie of cash, looked like mostly singles, but it was maybe 2" thick. I told her to put it back and not mess with it. Maybe it was someones birthday money, maybe it was some other nefarious source. no matter what I don’t need that in my life, I definitely don’t need my kid dealing with it.
