No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can some please explain to me why it is that your health insurance can deny you medication, even if your doctor says you need it?English
2·7 hours agoSadly there are some people i know who gain enough to look unhealthy if they dont eat a strict healthy vegan diet. And its easily to see in some cases. A friend of mine was very annoyed when she only got compliments after such rigorous effort. At that time her unhealtiest snack was dried strawberries.
On the other spectrum is me who cant gain any weight how matter what and how much i eat (cant even donate blood ;.;)
Bodies are VERY different and there are extremes where only meds can help and i think OP is one of them

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why dont android phones have a bios like computers and be able to load a generic arm linux iso or windows one,or be easily rooted?English
1·8 hours agoThe closest i can think of to that is buying a bunch of broken shiftphone/fairphone and making a new phone with the working parts.
But its not really choosing the design but instead a type of repair with spare parts.
in that sense other phones can also be repaired this way but they need a lot more skill like ungluing without breaking.

3·8 hours agoI personally choose a phone that was easy to unlock and put e/os based on lineage on it. Its degoogled but i am pretty sure that at least the french police can get full access instantly. But at least the phone itself does not spy on me beyond the few unsafe apps i installed because they had no real alternatives

That sounds wrong. To mute the guy would need to be kissed.

1·7 days agoIt sounds like it implies the parents being smart which varies a lot. Like it varies if children listen to their parents.
Also it can vary on mood, energy and personal feelings a lot if someone is open to (for them) difficult concepts

“OpenAI has introduced a new perspective on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), signaling a significant shift in its strategic priorities. Historically focused on creating AI systems capable of surpassing human performance across diverse tasks, the company now ties AGI to a financial benchmark: achieving at least $100 billion in profits. This redefinition reflects OpenAI’s evolving vision, emphasizing measurable economic impact over purely technical milestones. For you, this marks a pivotal moment in how AI’s success is evaluated and its role in shaping the global economy.”
