Didn’t they do this with Yakuza?
Didn’t they do this with Yakuza?
The Behind the Bastards episodes are pretty enlightening as well.
And Canada still continues that tradition today, don’t worry. Y’all might acknowledge your First Nations people better, but that doesn’t mean Canadian police and the RCMP especially hesitate when they see a chance to shoot some indigenous people.
The second. DeSantis already is playtesting this in FL by classifying, basically, being LGBT+ in public as “sexual” and making a law where sex offenders against children have the death penalty on the table. Since you’re in public, there’s a good chance CHILDREN could see you, so…well, you can fill in the rest.
Yup, regulatory capture at work. You see this a lot in EPA and OSHA as well - “we’ll take your word for it until serious shit starts happening a lot.”
Oh they fucking tried a LOT. The public at large, and a lot of the lobbying groups, kept up the pressure really well to get this through.
And, they DQed her in a way that erased her win, making that Russian boxer still undefeated on the record.
But yeah, they claimed she failed a test, but won’t reveal who did it, or the methodology used, meaning it’s not replicable and thus NOT GOOD SCIENCE.
I imagine they cranked into high gear after someone took a shot at Trump. Assassination attempts tend to beget more.
Teachers in the US definitely do NOT “take the summer off”, as someone who has an SIL that’s a teacher. That time winds up getting filled with lesson planning, adapting to new curricula, meetings with administration to discuss new curricula or books, and usually working a second job because your school is, most of the time, not paying you to do any of that.
It’s even weirder, because it was a flintlock - likely because you don’t have to actually register those in California, and Elon is paranoid about interacting with the government in a way that isn’t begging them for cash.
One wonders whether instance companies will incentivize these vehicles with lower rates.
A lot of it is run by Mormons not just because of their religion, but because a lot of these places are in the Southwest for two major reasons - they can be EXTREMELY remote and isolated that way (try walking 2 hrs in Arizona or Utah in the middle of the summer, without water, after probably living on starvation-level rations for several weeks), and the laws down there are pretty lax on what constitutes child abuse IIRC (especially Utah). The worst ones are out-of-country - one of my former boyfriends was sent to a gay camp SOMEWHERE in the Caribbean, and a lot of them operate in places that are normally tax shelters for similar reasons (although I know some of the islands have managed to push these places out of business).
China has been doing this for years. We’re just playing catch up in the Horrible Things Olympics.
Honestly this. I had one of these that replaced my old Dodge van at work, and I hated it because all my equipment was much more of a pain in the ass to get in and out.
But of course, he will spin this as “fostering peace” with China and Russia, because presidents who don’t simply Art of the Deal their way out of wars (read: selling off countries that aren’t theirs) are losers. The whole “oh no we’re in a war now” thing will be studiously avoided until the next election, or at least the US getting involved in such a war, because then it’s some other sucker’s problem.
Unironically, they absolutely do. Children are the punishment for having sex out of wedlock, and not only must the woman suffer for having this child, but the child must suffer because they’re the product of sin.
I knew a number of people at my old church who ABSOLUTELY thought this way.
Exactly this. You’re either rich, or you’re working two full-time jobs, which will absolutely wreck the shit out of your mental and physical health in the long run.
I’m so glad my community college refused to offer or honor any internship that was unpaid (or paid less than a set amount). We even got the local university to go along with it, so now pretty much nobody offers unpaid internships in the area because they all realize that they’d be missing out on a huge labor pool otherwise.
Ohio as well, same with Indiana.
