  • Well, in Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, you also have reasons to collect lots of the same stuff to do stuff.

The difference is that you don’t have to collect 10 boar asses in boar ass forest for a specific boar ass quest, but instead you may want to craft a legendary bone weapon, so you need to gather bones, and you can go anywhere in the world that drops the bones, or that gives gold you can use to buy the bones from other players, or that grants a special map currency that you can use tyo buy boxes of bones from a map currency vendor, all while doing whatever you feel like doing, progressing your bone gathering in a wide variety of ways.

  • If you have to kill someone to get organs, that’s lower in the list than getting organs from someone who is already dead. Getting organs if the family gives consent causes less pain than the organs being donated, so it goes higher on the list. So the most humane way to get organ donations goes to the top of the list.

If you counterfeit, you devalue the currency, and you cause harm to those who own that currency because they effectively lose wealth, so it’s lower in the list than earning the currency.

  • In person only a few times. For example, one of my relatives had a boyfriend who gave me a really creepy vibe.
He ended up being a controlling type with trust issues.
After the relative broke up with him, he appeared at the doorstep bleeding from cuts on his wrists.
Another relative had another biyfriend that gave me the vibe and he turned out to be a cheating bastards and a scammer who was only under control because of his mom, and when his mom died he went full unleashed. Now they are still in litigation over a piece of land he convinced the relative to buy, but now refuses to buy or sell, so the relative is stuck with that crap. The only reason to keep that is if he wants to get the whole terrain for free, or keep things like that to cause distress and harm my relative.

On the other hand, one guy that I don’t like at all because he’s a very right-wing fascy type, doesn’t give me that vibe, and he’s been really good with another relative despite me not liking him and putting in my relative’s head all sorts of right-wing ideas I don’t like at all.
He may be wrong, but he isn’t ‘bad’, if you can get what I mean.

  • It happened to me with many disgraced celebrities, but so far the worst one has been Leonardo DiCaprio. After The Beach, he gives me a horribly bad vibe. Strangely enough, it doesn’t happen with anything he did before The Beach.

Whatever horrible thing he did that stained his soul to such a degree, it must have happened between Celebrity and the end of filming The Beach. It’s as if he became 25, went to Thailand, and did something that turned him evil or something.

  • This only works as a minimum for menial jobs, and if everyone gets 1000 hours every month, no matter their circumstances, and jobs give more hours the harder and more dangerous they are.

May as well call them “credit” instead, since it’d have to be actually detached from hours.

But if you only have credits, you end up with capitalism again.

We need two more currencies: karma and laurels.

You’d get karma when you do stuff that is helpful to others; it doesn’t matter if you do it for selfish reasons, as long as it helps others. You’d get laurels when you do stuff no one has done before. Karma and laurels would be non-transferable.

Karma would represent how much you help society, so society pays back. You could spend karma to pay lower taxes and even to directly get credits from the government. Maybe other benefits too, depending on technological advancements.
Laurels would let you call ‘dibs’ on stuff. Like being able to benefit exlusively for something you invented. The better the invention and the more it benefits people, the more laurels you get and the longer the exclusivity you can maintain before it becomes public domain.

Now we just need some sort of benign gestalt AI like in the Culture books to ensure karma and laurels are accounted impartially.
