Don’t you worry about it, wine has been around since the 90s. So many desktop apps you like on windows will be really functional, and you can see their individual compatibility ratings on https://appdb.winehq.org/ For games, it’s another mater. But most of the time it’s fine wether it be on steam proton or wine-ge. Try it for a few weeks and you’ll find yourself happy, but still harassing devs for a native Linux release :)

I’ve experienced that nagging feeling of needing to fix that issue and endlessly searching for an answer. And you’ve answered your own question: taking a break might be the best solution. But obviously it is frustrating to stop yourself once you’re “down the rabbit hole”. I’ve never worked in dev team but this might be your answer when you start working professionally. Asking help from your colleagues might be less frustrating than pacing yourself on your own.

I get the feeling. I had a fuck-up directory with solutions for my failed android rooting efforts. I tried to flash my phone with a random recovery image I found in an old FAQ section.

If it’s just for joy riding it’s fine then. I’m more critical of valley roads where there is a lot of traffic. It’s not because cars have reigned supreme there for decades there that we shouldn’t adapt the infrastructure for bikes. It’s a lot of work for sure. But it’s sustainable development.

I’d prefer a separate road for bicycles but it’s nice to be value as a cyclist nonetheless

Syncthing is great to periodically sync files between Linux and Android. And you could use it as file transfer service for occasional needs if you just share an empty directory.

You’re right, these are very good arguments. I’m just too biased towards bikes, so I become overly critical of microcars. The two are complementary modes of transport, for sure. Still, a compulsory driving license for microcars should be standard around the world.

I’m not really fond of microcars. Every time I see one I’m like: “Just buy a bike it’s cheaper and it doesn’t look like a motorized dumpster!”. Not to mention that to drive one in France you don’t even need a driving license. Talk about a security hazard… My thinking is they’re a lot pricier than great top of the line E-bikes (hydraulic breaks and the whole shebang), you can carry as much as a cargo bike and for the rain, a waterproof coat and pants work just fine (tropical regions get a pass I guess).

I was a bit surprised about the high price tag. Did the DLCs for previous From Software games cost that much too? Anyway, hard to judge now. But if it has a lot of content and feels like a real extension of the game, then it could be worth the price.

The number one problem of modern appliance is indeed longevity I’d say. The so called “planned obsolescence” is probably what mainly drives or consumption of electronics and, accordingly, our production of e-waste. But Framework might just be saying that for green washing purposes.

Damn that seems really infuriating. Where I live there’s a government program to forbid anyone to send you ads or political propaganda (and the best part is that you can report those who slip through the net!) It isn’t fool proof but it did decrease the amount of calls from people trying to sell me shit I don’t want.
