Games@lemmy.world•Baldur's Gate 3 or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?English
8·2 months agoBG III is significantly longer, so if that’s important to you 🤷♂️ Otherwise both are great games
I read that as “can you run baking apps” and was very confused why you shouldn’t be able to look at recipes 😅

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?
9·3 months agoExpedition 33 had multiple moments for me, still enjoyed it a lot
Not even close, a gold atom is about 140 pm, while the diffraction limit for optical microscopes is around 200 nm, so 1000 Times bigger. And this does not mean that you could see a 200 nm object, only that you can differentiate 2 objects that are at least 200 nm apart. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffraction-limited_system So no it is not possible to see atoms with visible light photons.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•32, f. Are there any dating sites that are actually free and don't suddenly force me to pay to actually use the site?
8·4 months agoOk Cupid used to be kind that, but they completely butchered the question part of it, in my opinion it is no longer useful. Also as a white cis male you get spammed there by literally hundreds of accounts from the Philippines. Makes the whole thing useless in my opinion
I just did that, using Fedora KDE now, works great

Technology@lemmy.world•ChatGPT spends 'tens of millions of dollars' on people saying 'please' and 'thank you', but Sam Altman says it's worth itEnglish
203·6 months agoBut the interaction is different. I have a simple example, would you be upset if you see some people beat up a chair? Probably not, but if you see people beat up something that moves, talks and behaves like a person or an animal you might get upset. Both are just things, but the interaction is still different. So we should teach our kids to be kind in interactions with live line things so that they behave properly when interacting with people. That’s at least how I see it 🤷♂️

politics @lemmy.world•Bomb dropped by U.S. in World War II explodes at airport in Japan, causing runway damage and cancellation of 80 flights
12·1 year agoI live in Germany and where I live at least once a weak a WWII bomb is found and defused. Rarely they have to be exploded in a controlled way and even more rarely they explode on their own. For me these findings are a normal annoyance when train lines or streets are blocked because of defusal.
