I think English will change in a way that being “wrong” will be part of the language itself.
AI can learn a language, but can’t learn the unpredictability of communities shaped by memes. AI for example doesn’t know memes, because requires processes unable to be emulated via pure logic.
AI started to become good enough to be marketable.
A good chunk of current democracies are actually open market oligarchies.
People here don’t need to spot a joke because this is a meme community. We trade in jokes, we feel their spirit be free around us, a cloud of happiness.

My theory (very bad) is that the fediverse is the prelude of an internet so decentralized it will stop being useful to corporations.
The “upper web” will be corporate, ads, marketing and paid services. The “lower web” will be a series of semi connected networks that will loosely operate as a whole.
Maybe in 10~20 years, a physical new internet will be born, completely independent from the current one and untouched by companies.

I was banned from a community for infringing a rule that didn’t even exist in both the community ruleset and as part of the ToS.
Trying to talk there is like permanently checking that you don’t enter into wrongspeak territory like in 1984.
Technology divergence is inevitable after corporations saw that convergence into an “all in one device” made their work much simpler.
No surprise feature phones, MP3 players and dedicated-use devices are making a comeback. My wish is for full pocket computers to return.

Same thing happened to me for a remote call center job. They ended up discovering they mistyped the invitation link by not copy pasting the last character. They told me I was unprofessional via email until then. When they rescheduled, I simply told them their unprofessional approach pushed me to search another opportunity.
And honestly, it is needed when the body is in “immediate alert mode” and need to expel dangerous substances.
