  • I’m actually really excited for the new Forza Horizon game, but not for the reason most people would be. My gamer group has been struggling to find a game that we can all play together again that we actually want to play. I’m the only PC gamer of the group, so it’s gotta be cross platform. So while I’ve had good fun playing previous Horizon games, I’m mostly looking forward to who I get to play it with.

  • I’m going to adopt that mindset. I’m just used to that ‘deep dive’ behaviour being attributed to woman along the lines of ‘clingy girlfriend’.

I’m not saying men don’t engage in this behaviour, but (again in the older internet I grew up in) it was mainly attributed to women. Especially because Facebook was the first thing that came to mind for me.

Facebook was at its height when I was just barely an adult and I know a few women who would talk along those lines.

Thats just where I was coming from. It’s no excuse, and I’m really glad you provided this prospective

Love a JB Fletcher meme; don’t love the context.

There’s a meme I wish I could link but the YouTube algorithm has gone to shit. JB Fletcher types the Navy Seal CopyPasta is the gist.

Edit; noticed the poster. As a woman myself I’d hate to have everything scrutinised around any relationship. This just rings as ‘girls vs girls’ to me and I’m not a huge fan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • The alt-right is certainly targeting men, so it is correlated, but I think it’s important to note that these girls were targeted because of their gender first and foremost. The ‘Charlie Kirk’ aspect was just the excuse provided by the perpetrator. There’s a deeper issue at play and should be acknowledged.

I’ve never been truly stalked before, but I started working early and naively had a picture on OKCupid (when it was new and all the rage) when I was 18. I had a guy I never actually talked to show up at my work and seek me out. I was 18 and dumb, but I’m glad I learned that lesson. It could have been so much worse.

  • I’m going to be the serpent in the grass and say give Babylon 5 a go before DS9. The first season will feel slow because the show is structured like a novel; exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion. There are small things like newspaper headers that hint towards future developments, and every main character undergoes a major arc. I enjoy DS9, but it’s never felt as cohesive as B5 to me. You may throw your stones now.
