I have no idea what normal people do, but I avoid ads at all costs. Sometimes I pay premium, sometimes I just don’t watch.

I actually hope she does so she will learn there are consequences.
Yeah, that’s probably true of most of them. I haven’t really looked at mine.
In their defense you would think just being against fascism might be enough. Turns out it isn’t.
Maybe if she becomes part of Trump’s cabinet, she can finally get control of that sweet hurricane generating tech she said exists.
Not always. I think the best people think they WON’T be let go and some others who don’t perform, figure they are on the chopping block.
In our case it didn’t matter because they wound up having four rounds of layoffs before shutting that location down entirely. So it really wound up being WHEN you were fired, not IF.
I worked with a guy who’s wife had just had a baby and the baby was sick. The guy was very good at his job but was working from home without really asking permission. We have some leeway in this matter but technically he didn’t clear it. His supervisor really had it in for him and was trying very hard to get him fired for falsifying his time card. I don’t know why he didn’t like him, but the supervisor was a real ass. It may have been racist motivation, but I’m not sure.
I should point out that I had asked this guy to do some work for me that I didn’t have the capability to do and this guy approached it in such a unique way that the customer and some universities were really interested in his work. This is a defense contractor environment where every working hour has to be accounted for. Whenever I asked the guy a question whether via email or telephone, he always responded immediately. It was all computer code so I didn’t see a problem with this.
When he came into work and told me what was going on I immediately contact the manager on his behalf.
Well bottom line is that management pretty much dropped the subject and the supervisor was walked out of the facility. Turns out he had been falsifying his own time card the whole time. How’s that for hypocrisy?
Justice served.
I worked for a company that did just that and it was the best way to do it because a lot of people left on their own.
Yup, I worked for a company that was laying off but they were still hiring because, “they had a hiring policy.” Absolutely nonsensical.
Why do you keep talking about the US in response to me. I’m not arguing that. But saying that an apple is bad doesn’t make an orange good.
That’s an analogy. Oranges are awesome.
Figures, I read here that he also said that he wanted to drag the dead bodies of Trump’s political enemies into the street and burn them.
I never said ANYTHING about the US in my post. I’m merely pointing out that Singapore may not be the best example to use as a counterpoint.
It is true, election cycles are much shorter in other countries but that’s just not the case in the US. There’s a saying that there’s no such thing as bad publicity. Trump has been in the news with his bat shit crazy rhetoric for years now. That’s hard to defeat in just a few months. Especially when his base is so fanatical they will vote for him even if he killed someone.
Singapore? You ever been there? There’s a saying, "Singapore is a fine city, you get fined for this, you get fined for that. "
They have a 6 day work week.
When I was there a guy made a mistake and left the back of the dump truck up and drove into a bridge causing some damage and traffic jam. They put his face on the cover of the newspaper with a title that said, “This man backed up traffic for hours!”
My mother had a friend there. Her camera was stolen so she went to the police. They kept her there for hours until she admitted she lost her camera, so it would look like there was less crime there.
Efficient? Maybe. But no thanks.
And didn’t France just outlaw women wearing hijabs to the beach?
My dryer is on the right, but the direction the door swings makes it better that way. If it were on the left I would have trouble moving the wet clothes from the washer to the dryer without hitting the door all the time.
Couldn’t read the article. Which AG hopeful was it?
I think most elections would have been as if a Kamala Harris ran against another Kamala Harris. In other words, two normal politicians so that the result wasn’t perceived as much of a difference who one. Also, in the past if a politician said things like, “you won’t have to vote again” or called the opponent names, he would have been shredded in the media and probably lost the election due to scandal. I mean a felon has never run for president before. Trump just somehow has different rules.
Yeah, they liked being in the middle of a poorly handled pandemic. It was great!!
My problem is that most movies I like were never universally panned, they were just sort of so so. Movies like Fandango. I really liked it but I think it got like a 5.5 on IMDB.
Anyone surprised by something Trump does is either an idiot or been living under a rock.
