Thanks everyone. I tried everything but only with very limited success. I have a very unstable connection that loads very very slow and is basically unusable. I will check tomorrow again if there’s damage and if WiFi is affected too. It’s already night here so time for a little sleep.
I think that’s what I will eventually do. Right now it’s still dual boot.
Nice. Steam with Proton works really great for me so far. If only wine would be as good for other software. Trying to get my Affinity products to work on wine or DAZ Studio is a nightmare and I probably will just use a VM 😩.
What’s the problem here? That’s how I started with Linux.
What are ya’ll’s thoughts on immutable OS’s?
As a causal user, they sound awesome. I want a stable system and, if possible, never touch the Terminal to fix some stuff + I’m okay with Flatpaks, since I have more than enough disk space for them. The only slight annoyance would be theming in my case, but that’s a minor problem that is probably easy to fix.
I’m actually very interested in Vanilla OS, since it is a community-driven Distro. I will probably switch fully when they bring out the KDE version.
Flatpaks because their updating works (compared to my experience with Appimages) and the Apps starting instantly (compared to my limited experience with snaps). But sadly, a lot of production software doesn’t want to support either of this package formats? I haven’t seen support from Davinci Resolve or Mari, as an example.
headerbars
Nothing against your personal preference but I take a good global menu integration over headerbars every single day 🙂.
This. KDE community seems to be very friendly and Plasma could really need a little polishing. Especially the default Breeze theme.
I like the overall design of the Gnome Shell (top panel) and the workflow with different workspace. I like it so much that I actually copied it in KDE. What I don’t like is the look and feel of GTK apps. They’re often so limited or the advanced options aren’t clear at the first look.
The world of Scorn felt pretty alien and unnerving.
Good to see that my admins already dealt with it.
I wouldn’t de-federate sh.itjust.works for that now. But stuff like this doesn’t look good and the “Just ignore it bro” crowd shows that they never had to deal with organized harassment themselves. The_Donald wasn’t just a harmless sub with a little bit of trolling, it was responsible for extreme radicalization and people died because of it. The reality is that such hate groups never stay in their place and behave everywhere else. They brigade and harass every time. Should the community grow and attract more people, it’s just a disaster waiting to happen. People are responsible for their own instance and are free to choose whatever they want but that’s the same for other servers if they should decide to de-federate.
The problem is lemmy.ml From what I get, a lot of the old guard (before the Reddit exodus) are talkies. That includes the admins and mods. And Lemmy.ml was or still is the biggest instance because people automatically choose the server of the Lemmy devs (Because many people don’t understand the concept of federation).
You don’t have to say something genius. As someone who posts memes. I love it when people tell me that they liked it. It helps to push my content up and the more people comment, the more likely you get nice conversations. But nobody will force you to comment, so no panic 😉
I agree. It already helps if you comment under stuff that you liked. Pushes the good content up to the top and it will be more visible for others.
What a colossal shit show. They’re hellbent on destroying third party competition before the IPO. Next on the chopping block are old.reddit and porn.

Shows already that the blackout protest will change nothing.
Yeah seems to be the hardware. Bought a Wifi adapter today and it works.
