My sleep apnea and acid reflux hard disagree with this.

So, you mean that he’ll be let free. I’m calling it now. They’re going to try and paint him as a victim of political targeting by “woke” agents. Goofy Eyes Patel will then dismiss the charges and fire the agents.
Went right over your head…

SailorFuzz@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Those who are hosting on bare metal: What is stopping you from using Containers or VM's? What are you self hosting?English2·13 days agoMainly that I don’t understand how to use containers… or VMs that well… I have and old MyCloud NAS and little pucky PC that I wanted to run simple QoL services on… HomeAssistant, JellyFin etc…
I got Proxmox installed on it, I can access it… I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing… There was a website that allowed you to just run scripts on shell to install a lot of things… but now none of those work becuase it says my version of Proxmox is wrong (when it’s not?)… so those don’t work…
And at least VMs are easy(ish) to understand. Fake computer with OS… easy. I’ve built PCs before, I get it… Containers just never want to work, or I don’t understand wtf to do to make them work.
I wanted to run a Zulip or Rocket.chat for internal messaging around the house (wife and I both work at home, kid does home/virtualschool)… wanted to use a container because a service that simple doesn’t feel like it needs a whole VM… but it won’t work…

So it’s you.
I am well aware that it’s a popular song. I also know that karaoke is about having fun and being a bit cringe. I get all of that, I used to do karaoke all, the, time…
For you, you’re just kind of visiting… you both think you’re being cutesy and special and unique… to everyone else, hatred. It’s like when someone goes to Guitar Center and thinks they’ll show off how “cool” they are by trying to play “Stairway to Heaven” but to the staff and regulars it’s like the 4th time that day… hatred. Plus everyone there now knows you’re basic, and probably a poser.
Easy
#Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
Absolutely hate that song. It’s bad enough that it’s the poster child for baby’s first “emo/goth” song. Badly written, overly dramatic, cheesy cringe af… But I hate it for more than that.
I used to do (nearly) weekly karaoke with friends at the bar. And almost every week, every goddamn week, some “quirky” scene couple on their first date thinks they’ll try to be cute sing a duet together… and everytime, every goddamn time, it’s “Bring me to Life”. And no, they can never sing, it sounds like if gym sneakers had autism.
Hate that song. Not just me, like, everyone who frequently does karaoke hates that song. Most karaooke DJs don’t even let you pick it, they know what’s up and they’re even more sick of hearing it. I hear that song and I get fucking PTSD flashbacks. The cringe is physically painful.
Back in the day… there were so many of these… so, so many…
You don’t understand… unless you were in the trenches with us on Napster/Kazaa/LimeWire/WinMX… so… so many DBZ/Linkin-Park videos…

I get that you need characters to stand out and be interesting (hence the reason for the story to revolve around them), but “edge” isn’t a trait. Being an “anti-hero” requires more nuance than just “be arrogant and smug”. And the kinds of people who “look up to” these characters are always the most insufferable people.
Characters like Elliot from “Mr.Robot”, House of “House MD”, Discord of “MLP:FiM”, everyone in “Big Bang Theory”, etc etc etc… I’ve spent enough of my life being douchebag and I have no desire to watch somebody else do it.

And you’re missing the point. If your spectrum of ideology is up to and includes nazis… you accept nazis… making you a nazi enabler at best… or to keep it simple, a nazi.
I don’t know why y’all are thinking that you’re being slick by playing these games. This little semantic games and bad faith bullshit is well known about and documented. It’s the same strategies used nearly a 100 years ago. We already read about you, go back to history books.

Elliot is the physical embodiment that every redditor THINKS they are. His whole archetype is “edge”. He’s arrogant but awkward, superpowerful but traumatized, etc etc etc. He’s like a walking talking LiveJournal entry.
