This is what happens when you’re state/city doesn’t upgrade your airport either. I just flew through SFO and DIA this past week and security was under 5 minutes because they dont rely on TSA staff for the majority of their functions.

movies@piefed.social•AMC Theatres Grapples With Nearly 10 Percent Attendance Drop In Latest Quarter
5·2 months agoI haven’t seen any movies worth watching on streaming in the last 6 months. I dont know what people are finding to watch in theaters right now.
Scrolling the list right now I guess all the money was from: Avatar Sinners Bugonia Zootopia 2
I dont see Goat making good money and Send Help will probably do decent streaming but poor theater numbers.
I dont see enough for a strong Q1, and as lame as AMC is, I dont think its their business as much as the product available right now.

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•Worst day of my life
6·2 months agoI feel like it wouldn’t matter. Like having a romantic relationship is irrelevant to them, but the joining of houses would be a different story. Even then, the Klingons adopt and add people to their houses with some frequency, so siring an heir doesn’t strike me as an obligation so much as making sure the house survives and performs deeds of honor.

5·2 months agoIts been a good season for the gay anime. It hasn’t bored me, but it has made me actively contrast and compare them with other anime, the same as you.

4·2 months agoEh they didn’t last time. Instead the lines went Hella fast as they proceeded to not give a shit. As someone flying at the time, it was pretty awesome actually.

politics @lemmy.world•Gavin Newsom’s Biggest Problem Is Gavin Newsom
3·3 months agoYup. All he has to say is “If that what the people want, its what’s gonna happen.” Its super milk toast, it’s non-commital, but it doesn’t make you look owned by billionaires.

politics @lemmy.world•Gavin Newsom’s Biggest Problem Is Gavin Newsom
8·3 months agoMost (not all) of Gavin’s problems come from completely optional crap he does. He didn’t need a podcast. He really doesn’t need to go on conservative podcasts either. Every time he attempts to reach across the aisle, it earns him nothing with conservatives and pisses off his base.

Memes@lemmy.ml•The Democrats are the undisputed masters of gaslighting
116·3 months agoWe just dont like to admit that the working class contains the same amount of evil as your average citizen within it. They just lack the time or finances to manipulate each other as successfully as the wealthy.

When I turned 18 in the US, they sent a postcard with return postage paid that had 2 checkboxes. First check box was that you were signing up for the draft and the 2nd was that you wished to register to vote.
Check, check, back in the mailbox. Done.
I’ve always just assumed this wasnt automatic so they could confirm address and that you’re still alive.
