  • “This could be the one!”

    “OHHH MANNN”

The Paul George 360 dunk call stays ingrained in my head.

As a Knick fan I grew up with Mike Breen who I think is the undeniable GOAT as a professional, a broadcaster and a human being.

I’ve since been using illegal streams and not have the Knicks call. I will say the Pacers are one of the few that hold their own.

I will also say the Suns is probably the worst and most lackluster and with a good amount of bias too. I feel bad for Suns fans during this era when they’re so good. Maybe I listened to their B team but the old man and the lady just don’t pack the same punch as the other teams

  • I didn’t like the hype from media this year. I saw what I saw with my own eyes and knew this was a decent class but like every year they need to hype it up so you watch the draft.

Wemby obviously shows insane flashes and we know he’s a future all-star.

Havent seen a lot of Scoot and as a Top 3 pick he’s crucial to the draft

I watched Miller have a killer game vs the Knicks. He gives off vibes of a guy who can do 20/0/0 game but I def see him as a future all-star

Both Thomason’s seem to play very very hard. So the Top 5 picks to me seem solid.

    Other Rookies I like:

Hawkins is a sniper. I loved the UConn run this year but thought he was an early 2nd rounder not mid 1st. BUT UConn, skinny shooter, I wonder if Ray and Rip can mentor him a bit more, if the teams want to hire a shooting coach bc he has potential to be an ELITE shooter

Bilal Coulibaly: Wizards are going to be a bottom tier team and Bilal won’t have any real impact on the standings but he’s a guy to look out for.

Jaime Jaquez: Dude is LEGIT but limited in role. His team is solid and his play style is limited in pros due to advanced length and athleticism that wasn’t there in college. He is good, he fits the team, BUT I don’t know if his ceiling is much higher than 15/5/3

  • If I’m being honest the risk reward for this specific skill doesn’t seem worth it.

I know for a fact I couldn’t do this. It would take years of training. I guess it’s cool he gets to be center of the court for half time but like how does one come across the idea of HANDSTANDING on BASKETBALLS on weird platforms.

Like hand standing alone is difficult, now doing that on a ball is more impressive. But overall this is crazy

  • I don’t see the Rockets

If their picks work out then they have to pay them. Sengun, Green, Jabari, Thompson, KPJ looking for money? It works now that they improved bc Brooks and FVV can get paid while these guys are rookie scaled.

But once they have to pay them market value, they won’t be able to supppment veterans. While some look good, none are game changing.

Wolves are an example of the opposite. KAT zis multiple time all star, Gobert DPOY, Ant sky is the limit. They’re somewhat limited in assets short term because of Gobert trade but it’s almost like a piece away.

  • He says he wants to retire when he thinks he can’t give it his all

But he spent more time in the league than out of it, idk if it’ll be that easy.

Lowkey think he pulls a Brady

    1. Leaves LA to join some “Superteam” or shit in like 2025 and doesn’t have to do as much.

    2. Retire and then decides he actually can’t do that bc he doesn’t know what it’s like to retire, then he gets a farewell tour the following season and eases into retirement better

  • The term would be overvalued not overrated.

But a team like Houston has played well the first 10+ games and a much better trajectory than Pistons who were basically the same caliber last year

FVV is overpaid but since so much of the team is rookie contracts they can afford it. It’s hard to put a price in turning around a franchise but since Rockets can afford to “overpay” FVV, he’s not really being overvalued for the franchise.

The answer of who is most overvalued might still be Tobias Harris making near $40m this has prevented Philly from truly getting a serious 3rd option since Jimmy left. Embiid is 30 this season and his best teammate is a blossoming star. Not saying Philly “lucked out” but Maxey was not a sure shot to pan out.

Embiid is supposed to be in the middle of his prime but so is Giannis and Jokic both with 2x the MVPs and a ring. Embiid is consistently missing more games than the other two and doesn’t quite seem to have the team around him to win. Sixers are good but not serious contenders since they haven’t proved to me they can make it past the second round.

A large reason for this is Tobias is eating up too much of the cap. For perspective a guy like Jalen Brunson 2 years from now is going to make around $15m less than Tobias Harris is making right now. Imagine Brunson and $15m player or just Tobias Harris.

This highlights why contracts aren’t the same. Rockets can overpay due their timeline. Sixers with an injury prone 30+ can’t afford not to give him a Jimmy Butler. And as soon and Tobias’ money is freed up, Maxey gonna be looking for a $200m extension.

  • The Warriors 2022 championship was super impressive but man did they squander multiple young talent.

James Wiseman, 2nd overall - Gone Jordan Poole, really not bad but obviously has his issues - Gone

Moody & Kuminga both lottery picks. Not bad but guys like Franz Wagner and Alperen Sengun are better and we’re both taken 1-2 picks after the guys Warriors took.

Between 3 lottery picks and Poole to come out w old ass CP3 and Gary Payton Jr (who they let go) really feels like mismanagement.

Crazy to think this team coudlve been LaMelo, Franz and Sengun with the aging big 3.

  • Depends what fail miserably means, especially in context of this question, which was 2-3 years.

Lakers made it back to WCF by third year

Warriors went to 6 in the second round only one year later. And have 2 more years left in this window technically - also they already won 4 rings with their core so this is kinda post Championship anyway.

Bucks went to 7 without their number 2 scorer the year after and had the worst shooting night like ever. Giannis got hurt 1st quarter of game 1 this year and missed 2 more. So no best player in league for basically 3 games of the series.

Now they have Dame and entering third season, but their biggest issue been health, not lack of play.

I’m not saying second round or Conference finals equates a ring but the teams have hung around and for Lakers and Bucks the issue seems to be injuries and not so much the play on the court. I agree about parity but I also think if Nuggets lost Jokic for 3 games in a series maybe they don’t make the finals either. So ultimately it’s going to come down to health.
