Technology@lemmy.world•Utah first state to hold websites liable for users who mask their location with VPNs — law goes into effect, designed to prevent bypassing age checksEnglish
9·18 days agoYeah, I was wondering how on earth this would work. If my organization doesn’t operate or host in Utah and they file suit against me why wouldn’t I tell them to pound sand?

politics @lemmy.world•MAGA influencer Emily Hart unmasked as male medical student from India
9·28 days agoWhat if you run the grift for a while then fully expose it was a scam and donate all the money to progressive causes, causing losers to hesitate engaging with or donating to right-wing causes again? Temporary and long term gain. That said, I have not thought this through for any longer than it took me to type it.

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•How are they doing this??
5·29 days agoThis could be even funnier by at least 8.3% if the second frame was rear view on the main screen and the credit appeared mirrored from Enterpise’s perspective.
Tom Servo represent!

7·2 months agoApropos to absolutely nothing, what countries do y’all use when torrenting with a vpn?
I’ve been thinking that too. Haven’t seen it in over 20 years but I still remember it being a total mind job!
Breakfast Club is the classic example. Word emo chick was so hot and awesome and then just becomes… blah.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a TV series that you really, really liked and would enthusiastically recommend?
4·3 months agoThe showrunners had said from the very beginning they had the outline and knew how long it would go. (Also the end of this interview more recently.)
Producers don’t sign checks for shows that expensive without knowing what they’re signing up for.
I’d also say the regardless of debates on the quality (seems like audiences split pretty hard after S1), the general direction of the story was extremely clear and the entire inversion arc was almost complete. Anyway, regardless of if it were good or not, being robbed of a conclusion of any kind is infuriating.

6·3 months agoAnd the fact that HBO canceled it one measly season away from being about to finish the story. I’ll never pay a cent for HBO again.

I’ve been trying to remember what those were called, would love to try and get my hands on one.
