I think it’s part of the same reason for abortion restrictions.
I remember reading an article a few months after the Dobbs decision that said birth rates were up, and I thought to myself “not for long.”
I am also Gen X with 2 teenagers. My college tuition was roughly $3-5k per year. For my kids, college tuition will be $9k/year. I have no problem with student loan forgiveness. College tuition has gotten out of control and student loans are holding younger generations back.

Here’s the thing, we either accept that COVID is still a thing and follow measures to mitigate it resulting in probable negative economic effects, OR we continue down our current path resulting in a labor shortage. The bourgeoisie can’t have it both ways, but they don’t want to accept that.
