This is the recently announced Grand Seiko SBGJ273 Yuka-Momiji a high beat GMT watch with an eye-catching red dial. I regretted passing up the chance to get the original GS Momiji, the SBGH269. So when I saw this watch announced last month, I immediately contacted my dealer to get me a piece, and I finally got it last Thursday.

I am really digging this new watch. Online images does not do justice to the red dial. It is a sight to behold. The 39.5mm case fits my wrist pretty well, and while I am not a fan of GS bracelets, I am planning to keep this on the bracelet for about a month to see if I will replace it with a leather strap.

The case shape and thickness (with its slightly bulging crystal) reminds me of one of my other Grand Seikos from their Elegance Collection, the SBGE271 Kanro.
