So some foreigner met the one true Dan and he left such an impression that the entire region still bears his name?
The way he overperformed in basically every state make manipulation unlikely. We’re talking about a system of 50 state run elections that all have slightly different systems, all of which would require considerable effort to corrupt. Election meddling would at best flip a few states, and Trump won by a bigger margin than that.
Plus, Musk and Trump’s goons aren’t the geniuses who can pull off something like that. Their incompetency running the government makes it even less likely that they cheated. Thinking they cheated is just a distraction from realizing how effective their message was and how shitty the Democrat’s were. They lost fair and square, and they cannot rely on their enemy to be the only reason to vote for them.

Jerome Powell is the chair of the US Federal Reserve, the guys who set interest rates, print money, and run the government bank. Like all government agencies, Trump is trying to take dictatorial control of it in a way no president has. However, Jeromey was a fairly slimy pick for the role in the first place (even if he hasn’t done anything out of the ordinary), so the people acting like he’s some great hero are kinda cringe. The bigger issue is Trump making every institution more dysfunctional in his effort to consolidate power, not that Powell is amazing.
Same. I don’t need to remember why a company isn’t worth buying from so long as I remember to not buy from them.

Fallout@lemmy.world•Fallout: London hasn't developed into a Fallout 4-esque hub of new quest and expansion mods so far, and its lead has theories whyEnglish
3·6 days agoIt’s hard to make expansions for total conversions. Expansions take time, and it’s hard to want to create one when only a subset of Fallout 4 players will even play the base mod. I don’t think Endedal has many significant mods or expansions, despite it being well regarded and having existed for years.
I didn’t fall for it and am honestly disappointed that I’ve become so jaded and mistrusting
But what if girl?
I see no reason why these are mutually exclusive

3·7 days agoWith a corprocrat in charge, the republic will be pushed towards collapse and the same violent thugs working for ICE will be cracking skulls before long. They will doom America to fascism or civil war, and the only way you will ever get stability lasting more than a few years is by taking control from them.
Trump will never leave office alive, so give up on an election against him. When there is a choice, you’ll be voting for a JD Vance style Republican who is actually the puppet people seem to think Trump is, or you’ll be voting for a Democrat. If that Democrat is a coastal elite who was only rejected by the fascists because Trump didn’t like him, you’ve already lost. The Democrat will have a better chance in the general regardless, so it’s primary or bust.
Oh yeah, you also need progressives to dominate in 2022 and 2024 down ballot, while the rich only need a king loyal to their corruption.

1·7 days agoYou’re definitely correct about a lot of this, but your biggest mistake lies in underestimating Trump. He will leave in a body bag, no matter how much the general populace or even the wealthy elites dislike him. The violent thugs and Christian nationalists fully buy into the strength he projects, and they will not dispose him for the elites. No election will unseat him, as he plans on rigging the elections fully by 2028 whether he lives that long or not.
A period of elites trying to establish regional divisions and a breakup of the union will come, but not until Trump is dead. This is especially true when you consider how interwoven the military is at a national level. There are no regional divisions, and so there will be no breakup until the military is more thoroughly weakened and corrupted at an interpersonal level. A sudden power vacuum and disillusionment with Trump’s administration by everyone sets the best stage for them to take control.

211·7 days agoI don’t have high hopes that this will be anything more than a blip for him. Trump’s platitudes will be more than enough to reign in most of his base, and only a few that actually wake up.
At the same time, it’s not that this doesn’t help. The majority will turn against Trump eventually and the sooner the better. The question is whether they’ll do anything about it before he’s gone, and whether they won’t just follow the next king loyally.
