politics @lemmy.world•US bill to grant Americans serving in Israeli army same rights as US troops
11·8 hours agoI know I’m old and everything, but I seem to recall a time when serving in another country’s military (even a friendly) was considered…treason.
My housing development is built on fill dirt; I was trying to plant a rose bush and getting nowhere with just a shovel. What I really needed was a pickaxe like we used in college when we were excavating a rock shelter for Archaeology 401. Bought one at the hardware store and went to town. 🥀

I mean, I (~12 year user of the site, almost a million combined karma, banned by a bot) was never under the illusion that reddit operated for the benefit of its users; the API thing made that clear. But when it went public, I said, “well, that’s that,” and it seems I was right.

11·6 days agoNPR was talking about the DOJ suit against the SPLC, and they played a clip of Patel ranting about paid informants or some such sh*t and I just burst out laughing. This man has no credibility anymore.

And here I was worrying that these temporary judges would just be incompetent 🤦♀️
