It works with Graphene now.
Privacy, Technology, FOSS
I want to remove all proprietary software from my life.
Linux[Arch on Desktop, Debian in Homelab] and GrapheneOS User
It works with Graphene now.
It does work on the Pixel 9 Generation and even on the Pixel Fold 9 and Pixel Tab.
Since i use Arch everything actually worked. Scary.
Trackpad: Because i decided to not go with anything like kodi, i need a mouse and as i can not use a mouse when sitting on the couch i got a keyboard with integrated trackpad.
Jellyfin: There are a hole lot of guides on jellyfin. Just put it in to youtube and you will find plenty of stuff. The only thing is ‘obtaining’ the media to fill your library. There are a lot of ways and it depends on what language you need your content to be in to make any decision.
Homelab: Well if you want to run anything like piped or jellyfin you need a homelab. This could also be just a RaspberryPi. To get Piped with subscription feed running you can use my guide: https://gist.github.com/WreckingBANG/405235949c655cd8246188ba25c42277
Its not opensource tho, so you are still getting google tracking.
Set up a mini PC like a used Lenovo ThinkCentre, install Linux, and add a keyboard with trackpad. Run Jellyfin and Piped on your homelab, then ‘obtain’ media for your Jellyfin-Instance. Enjoy TV without distractions or tracking!
Well its just old sony tv and i am looking for a replacement with better quality and it is pretty hard to find anything. I will probably just go with a smart tv and never connect it to the internet. You can hack samsung TVs to jump straight into a hdmi input so i will probably do that even tho i am not happy with it.
Thats why i have a dumb tv with a little linux pc attached to it, so i can open piped and jellyfin in my librewolf browser.
Why glad? They are also pretty bad. You also should not use them. They had a databreach and kept it a secret.
It is sad that we live in a world where this has to be a question.
True, integrating it into nextcloud is also a solution + it can replace MS Office completely
Jitsi meet is better. It is OpenSource and more reliable imo.
You can take a look at that list: https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/
A lot of banking apps work.
GrapheneOS
I dont really have a favorite. I use the Google Camera because of the Quality but without the Internet Permission. For quick pictures i use the Graphene OS Camera App. The Graphene OS gets actually better day by day so i might uninstall GoogleCamera soon.
Why? Because it is down or because you just noticed that is is basicly just a Bing-Proxy?
Ad Hoc is like the real AirDrop. It creates a Network between the two devices that gets disconnected afterwords. The Advantage is that you dont need wifi or to activate a hotspot.
Everything is really bad. But sadly it is nearly impossible to buy a normal TV these days. Just buy any SmartTV, and get yourself a MiniPC with the Linux Distro of your liking.
