  • I’m also witnessing their workload and demands on them being smaller than what it used to be (already at school), and their work conditions being greatly improved compared to previous times

This is exactly the kind of “back in my day” invalidating, subordinating bs that many workers, not just gen z, are sick of putting up with. No one wants to be talked down to, or to have to put up with constant boomer finger wagging. On the other hand, it’s obvious when people talk like this that they’re unable to accept how much things change, and regardless of age, shows how out of touch they are with what the average worker puts up with.

I’m sure the people (and children) working in factories in the industrial revolution probably had it easier than those who came before them too. Maybe they were spoiled for fighting for an eight hour workday and safety regulations /s

Millennials are some of the first to have to be “always on” with constant emails, and Slack, and companies monitoring their every move on their phones and laptops, and hiring managers scouring their social media before agreeing to hire them, people getting fired for having OF pages, and having to constantly post bs all over LinkedIn just to stay relevant since there’s no way they’ll be able to keep the same job for more than a few years. And that’s just at their main job, nevermind the two other app-based “hustles” they’re forced to have that pay less than minimum wage. Just because the demands are different doesn’t mean they’re any lower, nor any better.

  • The last article I read about this said that doctors were taking days to figure out how to handle this legally because of abortion restrictions, even though they knew it was nonviable. I have personally AmA’d out of a hospital and gone to a different one for a different health situation because I didn’t trust the doctors, and it turned out to have been the exact right decision.

Women are not taken seriously by doctors, and black women are really not taken seriously, nor respected as human beings, by doctors in the US. There’s a million variables to this situation that none of us know, and we shouldn’t act like we know. But sure , let’s just judge this woman for how she reacted to a fucking horror movie situation that should have never occurred in the first place, especially in a “free” country with all the necessary healthcare technology readily available.

So why did this happen to her when she was at home, by herself? Because doctors were afraid of the legal repercussions of performing a medically necessary procedure. That’s all it comes down to. Not that hard.

At this point, anyone blaming this woman or any other woman in a similar situation as if they brought something like this on themselves, is just a misogynist looking for an outlet for their hatred of women. We all know it, but someone’s got to say it.

  • When the guy didn’t move after he “nudged” him with his cart (I would bet money that it was harder than a nudge but whatever) he really couldn’t just go around onto the street? No, he would have rather filmed himself fighting with someone than just be a normal person.

No, you shouldn’t block a sidewalk. No, you shouldn’t have to walk in the street with your dogs. Fine. But what you can do is pick your fucking battles and be the bigger person.

There’s no sane reason to condone murdering another human being instead of taking a step to the right.
