The oldest watch in my collection is actually an armani fashion watch. As much as I would never normally bother with a fashion watch, my wife bought me this when I graduated from basic training and we had zero money so it means more to me sentmently. That would 2009.
Fuck em. You tried to build something from nothing which is something many talk about but ever have the balls/ovaries to ever attempt and you tried it in one of the most brutal world economies in the last century.
They’re opinion of what work is or your business, is just that, an opinion. And it’s worth exactly as much as the value you assign to it, in other words it could be worthless.
You have nothing to prove, nothing to defend and nothing to feel embarrassed about.
My advice? Crack a joke about how your next business will be selling their hopes and dreams to other people since they’re never going to use them and crack the fuck on.
I have a very similar watch - seiko Presage zen Garden-and I really like it. It’s more of a formal watch rather than an every day wear.
Quality is good, it’s reliable and I personally really like the open heart. I paid £730 new and that’s probably top end of what I would be willing to pay. I do sometimes find myself looking at the cocktail range and thinking I should have got one of them instead.
Will it get robbed? I mean it’s not a massively desirable watch. When I wear miner I tend to keep it covered outside like any of my watches.
My daily?
A fit bit. I work from home 90% of my time so I’m just wearing joggers and T-shirt.
Outside of that I tend to cycle between the 5 watches I own.
