Yeah, no. I understand the problems with intellectual property and copyright. Its not an issue at the core of my politics but I’m at least somewhat aware of it. That’s not why people like me are pissed off over AI. We’re justifiably disgusted that people are pressing a button to create amalgamations of other people’s work. Work that, unlike whatever an LLM spits out, has had time, effort and humanity put into it. These people give a middle finger to anyone who creates, helping mega-corps kill the planet while they do it, and have the gall to consider the slop “art”.

I’ll admit I don’t know how to best make it resemble anything ^^ When I went vegan I came to realize that most of the flavour of meat is in the seasoning, but I never cared if the tofu or whatever actually resembled the meat it was seasoned like.

Now you may ask how to season it properly, and I’d love to tell you, but I’m such a new cook that I can’t. Names of spices elude me, which is part of the reason I need strict recipes to remember how to do shit. I enjoy cooking, I just can’t remember any of it lmao

Vegan here. I’ve had soy chicken nuggets and they’re actually really good. Soy is closest to chicken from the get-go so its the easiest thing for it to replicate, in my opinion.

So I’m not against what you’re saying (and maybe I’m taking the bate here) but are you implying anarchy is the only way to be free? If so, why use the term “leftist” at all, as it encompasses many ideologies, of which anarchism is one?

It’s really interesting that some autistic people are “I can’t understand body language at all” and some are “I understand and perceive every little twitch of the eyebrow so thoroughly that I catch things other people never could”. I say this as somebody who doesn’t know if they’re autistic or not, but has many friends who are on the spectrum, is in a poly relationship with two people who absolutely are, and find the differences between how all these things affect them fascinating.

That’s true, people can grow and change. Heck, I used CharacterAI for a very, very brief period when I was lying to myself about it’s impact on not just the world and artists but myself too. I quickly realized I couldn’t defend it, and I didn’t like how it was affecting me personally either so I quickly got rid of it. Been strongly anti-“AI” ever since.

HOWEVER, I also think it is worth criticizing those who are only giving it up now, because that’s absurd. We’ve all know for ages that this stuff is horrible for everybody and everything an disrespectful to artists, and it doesn’t even take much thinking to come to that conclusion on your own. If this is the tipping point that makes someone give up “AI”, I still consider them a fucking idiot. I’m just glad their stupidity is harming everyone else a bit less now.

I cannot believe this is what it took for a boycott to go more mainstream. Tell me more about how so many people have no respect for the environment or the artists who’s work they gleefully consume.
