I’m a career photographer/videographer but I’ve also been a musician my whole life. I held drumsticks before a camera. I know that OP’s question was around photogs losing value, but one take that no one has mentioned yet is that video has the crucial element of sound; a band’s sound is their value. So whether we are talking about live concert videos, music videos, BTS videos, etc. there is added value by including the band’s songs, performance, or whatever. Photos are an important asset, but capturing a visual aesthetic that can be paired with a band’s sound is a value add.
