Totally incorrect. My father controls my lights from across the country using the Kasa app. He is just signed in under my name
The neighbor could log in under your kasa account but would then have control over all devices in there. I wouldn’t have a problem with this. I share my account with my father. We randomly turn each others lights on and off. It’s fun
This is why you should do local control only. Zwave and ESPHome are great for that. I am still trying to figure out how to get my MyQ opener to work with an ESPHome relay
My window frames are power actuated. Can open/close from my phone, Alexa, and automatically based on temperature. It is one of the best home automation things I have done. It is for sure the most practical. In the spring and fall, it totally negates the need for heating and in the summer it cuts down the need for A/C to maybe 5-6 days per year.
