Have you hit a deer before or almost hit them in the dark? Yes absolutely 60mph will shorten your stopping distance and reaction time but not nearly enough. Even at 35mph people hit deer all the time because they typically jump out in front. But much faster than 35mph and even standing still in the middle of the road they’re tough to see and stop for. 60mph, not a chance.
KDE Plasma. It came on my steam deck which was my first intro to it, it blew me away and installed it on my laptop and finally ditched Windows shortly after. Works great for me.
Great on paper but literally not okay to slow down to 35 mph on the freeway … Where most wild animals are hit at night.

This one really grinds my gears! I think it’s because the person can’t even be bothered to describe what they want you to do, just go fix it and don’t bother me with any details.
Well I bought one and received it on Monday (two days ago) and I returned it today. There was a lot to like but for the 3rd generation of a product the UI was not great and lacked too many obvious features. But the biggest reason I returned it was because the wifi connection does not support capture portals (where you connect to wifi and then it forwards you to a page to sign in or provide a wifi token). This is what I use at my own house and what we use at work and what generally all modern public wifi uses and it’s completely unsupported. So the whole concept of having access to my notes on all my devices was useless when it can’t connect to anything or sync.
This. Shit doesn’t magically communicate with the company that made it. If they don’t want their data used, don’t connect it to wifi and disconnect the cellular antenna and pull the sim card 🤷♂️
I switched to Kubuntu (KDE Plasma with Wayland turned on) and it’s absolutely wonderful.
It was my steam deck that convinced me to just wipe windows from my laptop and install Kubuntu which is basically the same as steamOS. I had no idea Linux desktop was so good these days. Bye bye windows! I love my steam deck but I also still need a laptop form factor, I can’t always dock it and use it as my PC.

$10,000 a year to provide a single person housing? To put that in perspective. I’d assume that means a studio type apartment of some kind. Not high end, but a roof and place to live for $10,000 a year. I have a 1500sqft home in Washington state on 3 acres of land, and I pay $27,000 a year for my mortgage. So to me, $10,000 seems reasonable for a government funded studio for a year.
And also ranked choice voting, so there can be more than just 2 people running. F the 2 party system.
In my area prices are already down 30%. Every chart clearly shows the falling value.
Logging in to cancel my switch online right now. I was using YUZU to play games I bought from them, in some cases even more than once. F Nintendo. I won’t be buying a Switch 2.
Don’t forget good hardware too. The switch is an absolutely terrible hand held device. My hands cramp up nearly instantly trying to play on it.
I have purchased BOTW and TOTK for the switch, but I play them on my steam deck with YUZU Waaaay better experience.

Edit: While also true, I was wrong, they orbit the center of mass of the two body problem (earth and sun). I still think that’s too simple of a way to look at it. It’s not a two body problem and the other planets and the whole galaxy are also in play.
I haven’t tried it but if it works the same as a mobile OS you long click to select. Single click to execute.
Edit: apparently that’s not how it works. There is a checkbox on every icon that you have to click directly on the check box to select/unselect.
Plex will do all/most of that with no additional hardware required. Just install the app to your smart TV and phones. Best part is when I go to a anyone else’s house it’s as easy as installed the app to their TV and using the QR code on the display to sing in with my phone. Bonus you install the server app to your home computer and put in movies or media you already own there. You don’t even have to install a server for it to use all of the other aggregation features.
Life will be just fine, humans don’t have the power to extinguish life. But we sure do have the power to exterminate ourselves 🤦♂️
