News@lemmy.world•The Trump administration demands American press propagandize his Iran warEnglish
49·26 days agoHe’s such an obviously stupid guy.
He could’ve easily manufactured propaganda to sell this this war to his own base (some dumb shit about freedom and stuff like that) and they would’ve lapped it all up like all the shit before, but he’s just too dumb to even do that.
He might’ve even be able to get some democrats on his side with the right messaging, but he’s just dumb as fuck.

I do hope he continues with the anti-NATO rhetoric so that Europe is pushed further into the direction of making an EU Army. Inshallah

722·27 days agoGod, I’m so sick and tired of all the anglo mass-media slop and their disgustingly manipulative and clickbaity titles.
I cannot wait for the day when this shit gets banned.

Europe@feddit.org•Hungary’s Orbán claims Ukrainians ‘threatened’ his family as election campaign ramps upEnglish
13·1 month agoOrban should just fuck off
He is also insanely incompetent, and has caused Hungary to have some of the worst economies in EU!He can’t just fuck off and he’s not incompetent, he’s a thief. Him and his buddies have stollen so much of Hungary’s money and resources that if they’re taken out of power there’s a considerable of chance of people having to go to jail.
That’s why we’re seeing all these kinda desperate acts. He’s trying to cling to power through any means.
It’s gonna be a rough month for Hungarians, but I hope they can pull it off.

News@lemmy.world•Iran appears to have conducted a significant cyberattack against a U.S. company, a first since the war startedEnglish
62·1 month agoIt’s too quick an escalation.
I’m sorry? They’re okay with bombing US bases and kill soldiers, but cyber attacks against government websites is one step too far? They’re bombing shit left and right but hacking some Usaian company is too much?
Sorry, that really doesn’t track.
A more feasible explanation would be that this is the best they can do right now. I really don’t see any reason why they would hold back.

News@lemmy.world•Iran Makes Veiled Threat to Trump: 'Be Careful Not To Get Eliminated'English
193·1 month agoTrump is 100000000000000% more likely to die from eating yet another McBurger in the next 24hrs than he’s to be assassinated by the Islamic Regime from now to the end of his natural lifespan.
Also, to people who’d view that as a positive because hurr durr Trump (I get it): that would lead to President Vance with a mandate to wage a war of revenge. The whole political discussion would suddenly shift from all the damage that Trump has done to USA, to destroying Iran, with a high possibility of giving more strength to republicans.

3·1 month agoI’d be interested in how all of the money invested fares against good old “no drugs, eat your greens, excercise” regarding longevity.
I mean, we can kinda see that in action already?
Compare the longevity and health of rich people who get pumped full of the newest drugs vs average folk who can only afford average drugs. No doubt exercise and good food are a big factor, but drugs take you to another level.

Europe@feddit.org•EU to include UK and Japan in ‘Made in Europe’ plansEnglish
11·1 month agoSometime in the future we should also include countries like Australia, South Korea, Canada, and others. Although, for the time being I hope the focus is to extend trade partnerships - especially finishing the FTA with Australia and a new one with ASEAN, that’d make me very happy.
This shouldn’t really be about some sort of euro-nationalism, but rather a pragmatic approach that allows us to best counter USA and China.

Europe@feddit.org•French president expresses 'European solidarity' with Spain after US threats over Madrid’s stance on IranEnglish
223·1 month agoDoubt it. Solidary with Spain doesn’t necessarily translate to agreeing with Spain, but defending Spain’s right to sovereignty.
Similar to how someone’s defense of others’ free speech doesn’t translate to agreement of whatever it is that they say.

News@lemmy.world•The Dangerous Munitions Mismatch Between America and Iran | The United States has only so many expensive missiles to send after Iran’s cheap and plentiful arms.English
221·1 month agoA whole lot of slop when the article should’ve started from the get go with this point here
According to the Times, Israeli officials estimate that they have destroyed 50 percent of Iran’s missile launchers.
If that number is remotely true, then its an insane number.
Maybe Israel is lying, wouldn’t be the first time. Let’s halve it to 25%. Even with that number, removing 25% of Iran’s missile launch capabilities in a couple of days is fucking crazy. And its that kind of thing that completely changes the military calculations. Sure, they’re a lot more expensive, but if you fuck up your enemy’s capability to launch missiles, they’re very much worth it.
And missile launchers cannot be built at the same fast rate, it goes without saying. Its things like these that make me (extra) distrustful of western media. Do an actual genuine effort at estimating capabilities and stop it with the clickbaity slop, I’m tired.

Oh yeah, any NATO member who does not limit the outflow of critical military information to China should be treated as a pariah by other member states, it is a grave security risk.
