The drop-down menu under a post provides the option to “Hide Post” or “Unhide Post”, depending on its current state.

It’s an important subject that deserves attention, but when the single word meant to refer to it just means “shitty” to most of the people listening, the word is useless. The presumed intent of the word was to make that discussion easier, but it’s just made it more difficult.

It lost all meaning the moment it was coined and I’ve been saying it’s a bad word from the start. The intent was understandable, and the attempt to wrap a complex topic into a single term is admirable, but for the vast majority of people, all they see is a word that means “thing got worse”. And it only blew up because it comes off as a “sophisticated” way to say “shitty”.

5 democrats voted against reining in this current attack. And 3 republicans voted for it. But sure, they’re both the same 🙄

Is that how it’s supposed to work? I use the default browser client and I’ve never noticed it. I have seen duplicate posts (ie the same post from the same community) on different pages. Maybe that’s why.
Just came across an example of exactly what I’m talking about in my suggestion. The first post was hidden via the front page, and the second post was seen afterwards.
Userpage showing both posts, with one hidden: https://lemmy.ca/pictrs/image/74c84b3f-43a6-4d69-a08c-d84927e8007e.png
Second, unhidden post still visible on All feed: https://lemmy.ca/pictrs/image/fbc655af-a3b8-4df6-87f6-84719d6e7d98.png
Might as well be bragging about pictures they’ve taken of their bowel movements.

I’d suggest reading it instead. It’s pretty short (130 pages depending on printing) and a good read.

The ending to the book is one of the best reveals I’ve read/watched. The movie discarding it was such a huge disservice.
Except the US didn’t strike Iran until the end of Feb, not the beginning. So this is either (badly) faked, or it’s unrelated.

2 is a fairly linear action game with a few branching paths. 3 is a much bigger, RPG style game if that’s what your looking for out of it. It’s still “Geralt”, but there’s more liberty to play the game and character how you’d like.

The beginning of that game is quite slow, but it does pick up, and it has a lot more to offer than I thought when I first picked it up. It can also feel a bit inscrutable as there’s little to no direction offered to the player. Personally, I make liberal use of the wiki to counteract that. I’m betting there’s spoiler-sensitive guides out there, too.

You should be close to freedom. The intro to that game drags a bit, for sure. If you stick with it, one thing I’ll recommend is - take your time. The story tends to compartmentalize, kind of like the intro, so you can be better off ignoring it in favor of just faffing about (which is the best part of the game, imo).
Oh, I think you might be right. It was from a video about voice acting and all the faces kind of blur together in my mind, hah.

18% are, as per the article.
There’s a clip of a prolific voice actor (I wanna say Dan Castellaneta, or maybe Rob Paulsen) who says bad impressions make for the best character voices, because it gives the voice more character and familiarity without making people just think of the target of the impression.
Being so US-hate-brained to not understand that’s part of the joke.
