It’s literally completely artificial PR from the political-business elite and has absolutely nothing to do with organic evolution of language. Conservatism is the US is literally liberalism. The word Conservative still means monarchist in the rest of the Anglo world, because the rest of the Anglo world is still deeply connected to their Commonwealth history.

In the US, red scare propagandists hand in hand with business elite who wanted to maximize profits and destroy worker rights took an existing term and defined it with Orwellian doublespeak, literally saying “we’re not liberals” when very obviously to everyone educated in politics they absolutely were liberals and still are.

No, sorry. There are still conservatives in the world, mostly in Europe, mostly where monarchs are still in place like the UK. Conservatism is alive and well with its original meaning. Yes it has evolved. No it hasn’t evolved into its direct contradiction.

Only in America did some liberals decide to label themselves conservative as a way of creating an openly contradictory position from which to manage the electorate. Their PR is phenomenal because they claim to not be liberal but argue for private property, individual freedom, unregulated markets, and small government. Literally the definition of liberalism, but somehow, not liberals!

Also, no. Stalinist and Leninist are not “flavors of authoritarianism”. Words have meaning derived from the historical process of meaning creation in a society that you live in. Stalinism has a meaning that is historically defined. Leninism has a meaning that is historically defined. It not just “whatever was done”.

If that’s the case then the all genocides are Bidenism because Biden presided over a genocide. Genocides would also be Harrisism. Drone strikes of American citizens would be Obamism. Saving Nazis would be Trumanism.

None of these words mean those things.

A, everything that Stalin did is not “Stalinist” any more than every single thing you have done is Eldritchian

B, Vavilov was found guilty of “sabotage of Soviet agriculture and spying for Britain”. You can argue all you want that it was because of his opinions, but that’s not what the historical record shows. Vavilov studied all over Europe, including Britain, so it’s not all that weird for such suspicions to be dealt with with prejudice during the worst war in history.

American conservativism is already inherently contradictory. Conservativism as a political movement emerged in Europe in response to the emergence of liberalism. Liberalism is anti-monarchy. Conservatism is pro-monarchy. US conservativism is anti-monarchy, pro-market, pro-private property - all of these positions are liberal positions. American conservativism is liberalism.

So to adopt the label of conservative in America you already have to be ignorant of political philosophy, history, and the meaning of words that you use on a daily basis, and you have to be living out a full contradiction of political views. Or you have to be in the grifter elite that does understand this and use it as a way to fleece people.

The people who stay in the American conversative are under such psychology strain from the cognitive dissonance that they absolutely have to have purity tests to keep any challenge to their narratives out of their zones.

Real conservativism is monarchism. It’s hard to take ANY US conservatism seriously because it’s just liberalism but with a PR spin.

Or they send their hopes and prayers and raise a fist on the steps of Congress but do abso-fucking-lutely nothing that materially changes the trajectory of the fascist wave.

But yes, blame the voters who can’t even afford health insurance in 2026 or who have been food insecure for years or who can’t buy homes or who have to pay 50% of their income in rent.

It’s the VOTERS who are to blame, of course.

Look at the POTUS today having “zero control” over local things and still actual effects on those local things, from education to AI regulations. Man, sure would love a POTUS that understood the kind of power they have even if it’s not official and use it to slow down the march to fascism.

But I guess voters should get out and vote for Democrats who openly state that they are totally powerless to stop fascism because of the rules.

The country has been run by insane lunatics who kill hundreds of thousands for decades. Read your history. Both parties are part of the death cult that is necrocapitalism and they oversee the death machine. Biden had toddlers in solitary confinement at the border. Obama killed so many people in drone strikes. Reagan oversaw arms smuggling and death squad deployments. Bush obviously did Iraq. Obama and Hilary did Libya. Biden oversaw Gaza going off.

Voters didn’t end USAID. Voters stayed home partly because they realized that no matter who they voted for the government was going to kill hundreds of thousands of people in their name anyway. That kind of government doesn’t deserve a popular mandate.

Man, such an interesting thing to do under a Democratic president who knew exactly what was going on and who was in office when the SCOTUS ruled that anything the president did while in office was legal. If only someone could have stopped those damn Republicans!
