Interesting, but what does this have to do with Python?
Always looking for new music.

8·21 days agoYeah! I’ve had chronic depression for most of my life and I’ve noticed an improvement to it since taking vit D supplements, especially during winter months.
It’s not a fix, but it’s been a clear improvement for me.

Climate - truthful information about climate, related activism and politics.@slrpnk.net•i wonder if when AI bubble bursts the serverhalls will shut down and the financial dependency on fossil fuels will go past a tipping point English7·22 days agoThis is the intention. David Rosenthal recently wrote a blog piece about it. It goes quite deep into the economics but this is what I understand from the piece:
- Pricing for AI services is modelled after “the drug-dealer’s algorithm” (the first go is free)
- Specifically for enterprise usage, the model assumes that enterprises will find that using the service gives enough value to cover the subsidised cost of the service through the lock-in period.
- The assumed depreciation of hardware used in AI services is wrong, and the bubble will burst soon. Providers will have to raise prices significantly to remain solvent.

Jesus Christ that’s depressing.

Yes! I don’t have an ADHD diagnosis but I do struggle with working/short term memory (from depression and SSRI treatment) and executive dysfunction (aforementioned depression). You mentioning this makes me realise these pauses do feel very similar to executive dysfunction.
Yeah, I assumed so. I guess I was just worried it might be something neurological, that also causes tiredness and stress.
Oh that’s interesting.
I don’t know if it’s anxiety, but I definitely feel the pressure not to keep the person or people I’m talking to hanging.
The problem I have is that I don’t feel it coming on. It’s just suddenly there, so recognizing the situation and rephrasing doesn’t feel possible: once I’m stuck, I’m stuck. It’s like missing a step when you’re going up stairs: you can’t skip the stumbling part.
I’m sorry you experienced this. My assessment had the same outcome.
I find it helpful to remember that diagnostic assessments are set somewhat arbitrarily and are more concerned with the question “do these symptoms negatively affect your life to the extent they need intervention?”. That question is purely subjective and isn’t reflective of you.
No I don’t think they’re full of shit. The picture likely came from this Instagram video. It might have been upscaled or filtered but it’s not AI generated.

I’m sorry I accused you of using AI for it.

- the break in the chocolate coating doesn’t align
- the berries look like whirlpools
- photo shows both hands from the perspective of the person with those hands: how was the photo taken?

Are you okay?

1·3 months agoI understand. I hope you’re able to find some activities to help settle that high energy sadness. I can relate to that feeling but the things that work for me when I’m in that state tend to be the opposite to high activity and mental focus: eg. practicing mindfulness, taking myself for a slow walk in nature, proverbially touching grass.

2·3 months agoA few people have suggested drumming, which I’d also recommend.
Have you ever been dancing? One of my biggest pressure relief mechanisms is going to a music venue and just… dancing to bands or a DJ. It brings me back into my body, it’s a great physical workout, and it also keeps me mentally engaged.
I understand this isn’t something you can do immediately if you’re feeling frustrated, but I feel it can help with longer-term benefits towards emotional regulation.

I can flip that around for you: “Ah yes, the classic: the user must be in the wrong, not the organisation with a history of secretly installing an extension nobody asked for”.
