  • He was a member of the ruling class. What the hell are you talking about? He was a board member and co-founder of a corporation with a valuation in the billions of dollars. Yeah, sure, he wasn’t a billionaire but they aren’t the only problem. He certainly had a lot less in common with poors like you and me, especially since the corporation he was part of wasn’t exactly championing labor rights.

And yeah I’m sure I do need therapy. But guess what’s one of many things I can’t afford thanks to rich assholes like this guy?

  • Slavery has existed since antiquity. That’s my fucking point. You can do this “the actual original evil was X!” shit forever, because humans have been monsters to each other since the time of Sumer. Slavery, rape, genocide, it’s all there because some rich asshole wanted more.

I’m not disputing the horrible acts of America or the colonists and explorers that predate it. I’m saying that your line of reasoning isn’t useful here and just distracts from the topic of discussion.

  • It’s about as Silent Hill as RE4 was Resident Evil. It’s a decent game on its own merits (with crappy writing) but anyone expecting SH1-3 type gameplay would probably be disappointed.

Weak writing aside, I think it’s still ultimately a step in a better direction for the series. Silent Hill as a series always was a little weak in the “gameplay” aspect and I appreciated the increased intensity of the melee focused gameplay. Ditch or at least mitigate the durability thing (because seriously, knives and pipes don’t break that fast!) and work guns back in here or there and I think it’d be a solid foundation to work from.

  • Sea of Stars has some of the most beautiful art and music I’ve seen in a game of its type… and quite possibly the worst writing, too. It’s hard to overstate how awful the writing is. And the gameplay can’t save it. It’s not bad, but it’s not a game you’d play “for the gameplay” either. It’s okay.

It’s frustrating because their previous project, The Messenger, actually has pretty solid writing. It’s less story focused but the handful of NPCs are fun and have some clever lines.

I can’t really recommend people spend their money on it. If you’re going in expecting, idk, Chrono Trigger or something you’re gonna be really mad.

  • I don’t play Ubisoft games. I don’t have a horse in that race.

He’s awful because he was one of the money-addicted ownership class that collectively are ruining our world to fuel their addictions. Everyone in that class is a piece of shit and I don’t find much value in trying to determine the particular vintage of shit we’re dealing with. There are no “good guys” here.

I won’t wish death or harm on any of them, but I’ll certainly not shed a tear if karma gets them.

  • Author’s note:

I’ve had plenty of people let me know that these games are in fact available on Google’s own Play Store. Oh the irony. Rather than edit the whole angle of this article, I’ll just say that this is quite funny. Since Google’s Play Store is such a little part of my life (I never use it outside of emulation/retro handheld reviews), that totally passed me by.

All my apologies for not checking things better before posting this one! That is 100% on me. Instead try to read over it with an angle of “…you’re better to play these from F-droid than Play Store”…!

Oh, okay. So basically this was just something they shit out and published without due diligence.

    Why share this, then?
