Why does that even happen?

I once run out of toilet paper and the store didn’t have any, but in the parking lot I bumped into John Goodman and without a word spoken he handed me over a package of toilet paper. Really nice guy.

For me it was having the audacity to state Holodomor was real, while denying it is actually a crime in my county. Looking it up it actually isn’t, but it’s widely accepted to have happened and is taught in history lessons.

For me it’s categorizing radical ideologies correctly. I just hate people throwing around buzzwords, calling anyone a communist/fascist they disagree with. Those words have meanings. You can actually be worse then the fascists and still not be one, it’s not impossible. You can still be hated for that, but you didn’t automatically become one, because you are right-wing and coincidentally an asshole. But the moment someome calls you a fascist, while you’re just an asshole, their opinon automatically becomes invalid and wrong.

I’m not from America, but I thought I had a pretty good understanding on some of these issues. Turns out I only got the memo for “defund the police” meaning “abolish the police”.

I personally look up torrent files for either FLACs (lossless quality, with very large files) or 320kbps MP3s (smaller files with no noticable difference in sound quality imo) and then after making sure they have the right metadata (Title, Album, Artist) (using a tool like Tagger) I upload them onto my Navidrome server, which I connect to using Ultrasonic. If I didn’t selfhost I’d probably just put the tagged files on my phone and play them with basically any music player.

This just reminded me of movie-web which looked very similar to this… Anyone know something?

This may be a hot take, but I don’t think that on a linux specific meme community we should really care about what puts linux into a good light and what doesn’t. I mean have you seen vegancirclejerk? We are here to laugh and that can be achived by self-deprecating humor or parodying what others think of our system of choice as well.

I find this really cool and I’m really not here to whine, but like, two doctors from Who and THE Doctor from ST is missing.

To anyone who needs this in the future, a lot of scanners need some extra firmware files (found on their backend’s subpage, accessible from here) and those can be added to your nix configuration in a way some good people discovered here. Knowing all this would have saved me around 3 hours yesterday, so you’re welcome.

This issue really shouldn’t be politicized, I mean there isn’t even anything inherently political about it. It’s all just marketing.

I switched to it not even three months ago, after two years on arch and I’m not going back. Just as if not more configurable than arch and it’s actually harder to bloat with something and then forget about it, since you always have user-readable description of your current system.

Liberalism is the idea of giving people rights to assure their well-being. Liberalism doesn’t change, however it always finds new goals and with that new rights to secure for people. Once it secures a certain right it can be seen as integral to the ideology in the future and some of these rights are indeed the ones that make capitalism possible.

The weird thing is, without judging present day politics, is that historically something much like the opposite has been happening since the french revolution, since liberalism always selects new goals and the next generation of conservatives always try to (mostly unsuccesfully) preserve the state liberals already achived by the time these conservatives were born.

As far as I know most of our letters are the same.
