See that’s why you’ll never make it as a German nurse

How is being evil “celebrated”? What I figured out is that people actually don’t recognise they’re evil because they’re stupid and prejudiced. They don’t introspect. That’s not a celebration, but willful ignorance, in my opinion.

And this, people, is why we should extensively teach fascist and colonialist history. Bet >90% of Americans don’t know this. Many don’t seem to have an issue with Stephen Miller’s Nazi rhetoric, or Trump speeches often suspiciously sounding like the ones from a certain Austrian painter. They simply don’t recognise simple patterns like this.
I don’t think the author is at fault at all. I would rather ask their educators about what the fuck they were doing that this person doesn’t know these words.

I wouldn’t brush my teeth in the same shower I shit in either.

Many nursing schools and organisations in Germany are based on religious organisations, e.g. Caritas (catholicism), Diakonie (evangelical) and Johanniter (evangelical).
The catholics and evangelicals run many ambulance services, hospitals, nursing services and hospices. My old landlord family, two of them being nurses and very right-wing, was very religious and literally labeled us as the antichrist because we had a pride flag and had gay friends.

German here. Pretty sure that being an evil moron is a universal human quality not linked to state citizenship.

So apparently he’s doing something. What else should he do? Why spread thin when he has more time than a few weeks?

Is Mamdani a member of the People’s Republic of Judea or Judea’s People Republic? 🤔

Apparently DeskFlow is the FOSS/upstream version of Synergy, which is sponsored by Synergy!

Thank you. What did you dislike in Cinnamon what you felt GNOME was doing way better?
We’re basically stuck using GNOME at work due to it having the only proper Wayland-enabled multi user RDP session host. I don’t really like its workflows, window management and settings structure… The design is pretty nice, but that’s not my priority.

Is Pulsemeeter compatible with the VBAN protocol
As pipewire includes the VBAN protocol, it should be possible to setup a sink for it and use it with Pulsemeeter. You probably need to try it out as I never even heard of VBAN before.

I usually use qrencode at the command line. It’s pretty easy to use. There’s a GUI called QtQR but I never felt the need to use it.

That’s sadly not a digital tool, but a hobby.

What makes it particularly awesome in contrast to KDE or other desktops?

Came here to post this.
I think even shitting in a petri dish kills cancer cells.

TIL Lemmy can do footnotes 😍

Just because people chose not to make the steps to generate models transparent doesn’t mean it can’t be understood. It’s just hard to look at the output of an algorithm and figure out what it does without the input data.

You could also generate thumbnails with much smaller sizes and only load hi-res images on click. Did you consider using more JPEG or another algorithm?
Basically irrelevant what you choose as first distro. Do backups early and often, hopefully automated, and make sure to document your experience a bit so you know what you like and dislike. Afterwards you can check if other distributions might do the things you like better and do the things you dislike less.
The quirks are half the fun and part of your journey.
