Totally, we can always use more technicians! The machines aren’t all that complicated. We’re just heating and moving water around. 🙂

I work in equipment. Fell in love with coffee ages ago, and love to build things. It made for a fun intersection of hobbies.
Before I fell in love with it, it was just a thing that I drank in the mornings that tasted kinda gross and I’d add some sweet shit to in order to wake up. It took a bunch of folks like you to show me things like that Ethiopian coffee could taste like blueberries before I realized that there was a whole world of flavor that I hadn’t found. Similar experiences with things like wine or beer.
I’m glad that people like you exist to help invite a new generation of folks into this world!
Glad to see some baristas on here! I don’t work in a cafe, but I work in coffee. Super happy to see people that aren’t pretentious. It really struck me with some of my favorite customers early on. No judgement and willing to help people learn and explore.
Keep up the good work!

The only thing I can’t abide by is that he uses a food processor for the dough. I still toss everything in the kitchenaid with a dough hook. Maybe someday I’ll give his method a try, but it feels wrong.
I’m going to be the 1 in 12 that upvotes this for the laugh it gave me. Thank you!
Thanks! I use his pizza dough recipe often! Kenji rocks!
Awesome! I’d love to try this sometime.

iamanurd@midwest.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I start a crypto walletEnglish23·19 days agoKeep in mind that pump and dump schemes always consist of someone getting fucked over. Either you’re getting fucked over or you are fucking someone else over. I prefer to avoid those situations.
I guess to a lesser extent, it’s the core of capitalism.
iamanurd@midwest.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I start a crypto walletEnglish12·19 days agoI hope you’re not looking at trading crypto as a source of income. It’s not. It’s just as easy to lose money as it is to make it. I also encourage you to carefully consider tax implications.
As for the rest, it all depends on what you plan to do, what currencies you want to use, how much risk you’re comfortable with, and your expendable income.
You can create an account on of many exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, etc) that will allow you to deposit or withdraw physical currency and buy or sell many different crypto coins. I believe many of these will require you to register an ID (if you live in the US) for reporting to the IRS. Also, crypto exchanges have been hacked and people have lost money, so it’s worth considering how much you are comfortable with leaving on the exchange.
If you just need to receive crypto or care to transfer your money from an exchange to a wallet that you control, you can use a number of different wallets. There are hardware wallets that you can buy that are dedicated to storing crypto securely offline. There are also apps for your phone for multi currency wallets. However you do it, you’re going to want to make sure that you store passwords/seed phrases/etc safely and securely. If you lose your keys, you lose your currency. If someone gets access to your keys, you lose your currency.
Nerdwallet (a pretty great financial website if you’re ever looking to compare banks or credit cards) has a pretty detailed write up on the different types of wallets and how to create one. You can find it here: https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/investing/get-a-crypto-wallet
Good luck!

The hard part for me is keeping them around long enough to use them in ramen. Every time I walk by the fridge, I need to sample their progress.
Absolutely top notch looking though! My hat is off to you.

I play at 1440p, but competitive twitchy games at a super high frame rate. My 4090 does well for that.
I’ve found the opposite true, but maybe you prefer darker roasts? You can definitely find coffee like that in the US as well.
