You can see the traffic on the Mississippi, from downtown Memphis, you rarely see the river without some barges.
If you live in a place that rarely stops below 40F, it’s not worth the extra cost of bringing a gas line into the house, just use electricity.
However I’m right in the middle of that patch of the south and have gas heat and water heater. I’m looking into a heat pump for my next one, but gas is way cheaper than electricity here, so we’ll see…

I’d much prefer this be built into lemmy itself. You can block users and communities already in /settings. A keyword block would be a nice addition to that. Advanced blocks where you could block certain keywords (or domains) in certain communities by certain users (or any subset of those) would be amazing.
And for me at least, Twitter is almost exclusively read-only for me. There are some people that tweet stuff that I like to keep up with, but trying to engage there is super toxic. Reddit/lemmy is way better for actually talking about stuff with people. There is toxicity but it’s easier to ignore/downvote than Twitter, somehow.
The nice part is that they had two options. They couldn’t prove the safety of Starliner completing the crew test flight, but it’s good that there are 2 commercial crew vehicles that they could have chosen. That kind of choice is what the commercial crew program is all about.
