OF out there making up for the gender pay gap
That’s why there’s a difference between book smart and street smart. Working on both matters. It’s a competitive world out there. You’re right, a degree doesn’t guarantee you a job, it probably did back in the day that’s why older generations wanted kids to go to college. Hence the competition.
Like it or not. This is essentially what comes with living in a capitalist society. My parents always told me growing up to learn a skill. Doesn’t matter what just like it and keep getting better at it. And that’s your fallback. It’s definitely help led me through lots of industries and careers. But I couldn’t have done it without a combo of hustle and study. All of it, the study, the networking, the interviews IS the work. There’s no “end”. So you gotta find some joy out of the process otherwise it’s hard to be happy in life.
I loved getting better at what I did. I would constantly work on or talk to folks on how to get better and how to get a job from what I did. My only goal was to get a job even slightly close to my industry and drop retail work. Once I got that I set a new goal, but all in the name of getting better at my craft and learning new skills to complement it. That involved going back to university in my mid, late 20s.
I never saw it as my career. I just wanted to get better at the few things I like doing and hustle to learn how to get paid for it. Then how to get better again and get paid more for that. Money came naturally because people do want to pay for passionate skillful people. But lots and lots of struggle along the way. Not trying to undersell that. But it was still fun and worth it when you have people by your side in this journey.
So on getting a degree, the most important thing I got out of it was making friends.
In defence of the strangling, I assumed it was a 3 stooges inspired slapstick humour that didn’t have any malice intentions when writing. Def a good call to just end it
Simpsons really did challenge culture and now it’s become culture.
That being said it was edgy for the reasons not because of a white man voicing Apu or Homer strangling Bart. The edginess were its ideas and satirical humour compared to anything else on TV at the time. I’m in favour of Homer not strangling Bart and retiring Apu. Keeping these things wouldn’t help anyone, or suddenly make the show great again.
These would be great once arm chips become more of a thing on PC. Love the form factor.
I wish Apple would bring the 11” MacBook Air back again. I still occasionally look to pick an old one up for fun but never pulled the trigger.
Completely forgot Threads was even a thing.
I definitely met people who don’t care about music. And would prefer silence than music on the radio. I don’t believe they hate music in general.
I’m at an age where I’m just not as passionate about music as I was. Not saying only young people enjoy music. I’m just currently not inspired by it and hope to be so again soon.
Exactly. I’m sure there were regrets and sadness about the time he’s lost to family and friends and being young. But it effectively paid off. If he shared his wealth those people and left tomorrow to make up for lost time it will be a very very net positive life.
But he’s in his current role. Reminding us this billionaire use to be human but we don’t care. Because it’s such an unfathomable amount of wealth for most people he* might as well be fictional.
It’s mainly the lens size. It has a wide zoom range with a servo rocker (zoom buttons) and can par focal* (focus at one zoom range and stay the same focus when zoomed out)
Then it’s a massive battery on the back and an audio kit strapped on the side. Then sometimes streaming device to live broadcast. Then you got a shoulder pad on the bottom and a big viewfinder for daylight shooting. Strip all that away the body isn’t as big and heavy as you think. So largely all operational to be used running around without needing to stop and change gear.
Knowing Americans they would’ve rejected it if it wasn’t called military time. In fact I reckon if you guys rebranded metric system to military measurements there might be more acceptance to it.
What makes you think she’s a princess?
They must’ve noticed an uptick in Google traffic. I’ve stopped using reddit for fun and only as a means to find solutions through search engine.
Starting to wish yahoo answers would come back.
The world wasn’t ready for vista
Microsoft has a way. I still get a message recommending Microsoft Authenticator when logging in the work enterprise laptop. That’s an ad. Can’t imagine what they’re capable of on 11.
I thought they knew it was tradition that every second windows is dogshit.
People give apple a lot of crap and I get it. But they are still by far the best user experience laptop. There’s a reason with all that walled garden stuff. It’s good hardware and software when used by anyone with the purpose of just using it and not needing to tinker with it.
I’m at a point where I don’t mind the idea of diversifying my time with Linux more. I have an older pc I have mint for fun and a steam deck. Just worried one of these days apple will mess macOS up to the point of no return and Linux will be my lifeline.
And if you decide not to use ms Authenticator every time you log in with a third party one it’ll recommend you to get it every time. Don’t sell me shit when I’m trying to securely log in.
I partly think m1 is just so good no one has any appetite to upgrade. But also shit do be expensive. For me it’s repairability. I’m seriously considering not getting another Mac at my next upgrade cycle unless something changes soon.
I cancelled Netflix last month. I paid for it for about 10 years. I even had a dns set up to get US Netflix years before it even came to Australia. Because it was such a good product at the time. It hasn’t been worth it for a few years now but the software was good and it was cheap enough to keep around.
I’d be completely cool if the they slowed down a bit and do two year release cycles.
