I’ll just take something that modestly melts and doesn’t taste so much of coconut oil. Since becoming near-instantly lactose intolerant in 2019, this has been my been my biggest gripe, as almost every vegan cheese maker uses the stuff and I think it makes the cheese taste awful.

For what it’s worth, they’ve had a “Neuro Fuzzy” rice cooker (https://www.zojirushi.com/app/product/nszcc) for years—ours is at least 10 years old at this point. And, I would bet this is a trivial extension of that—using some decision tables supplemented with heat feedback—with only the addition of a user feedback mechanism, rather than any, true “AI”.

Correction: If they’re voting Republican, they’re united on abortion. You can be a principled objector, but the moment you cast a vote for a Republican—particularly at the national level—you are, like it or not, casting a vote for everything that the party stands for and that includes ending abortion protections.

Appreciate your taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, while I know all this, it doesn’t quite line up with my experience. I’ve seen the difference between an aged cheese like 3-year cheddar and American. But, there’s still a reaction to the cheddar, even if slight. (And, yes, I’ve had the allergy tests…)

So, I’ve found it safest to go with vegan cheese, particularly when the cheese I really want is American (or, at least Gruyère). Unfortunately, I never could get into breakfast sandwiches or burgers with cheddar—the stuff just breaks too easily.

And, the thing that I’ve learned is that almost all the makers have this obsession with coconut oil, the smallest amount of which I can taste—giving the cheese an “off” taste—and which gives me heartburn.

The problem is that there are a lot of low-information voters who get what little information they do have from sources that have no problem lying to them, be it their friends and coworkers, family and clergy, on up to “news” outlets like FoxNews and NewsMax.

They simply don’t know that the money that could be helping them is being siphoned off by the wealthiest. As far as they know, the reason they’re not getting help is because the Biden administration is giving out money for the construction of non-gendered, litterbox restrooms for trans furries. No points off for being outlandish, either. Whatever keeps them from discovering that it’s the billionaire class sucking up the money, and not the Democrats, LGBT, immigrants, etc.

I think you’ve already gotten some good answers here regarding the function itself:

I might also offer the advice of confirming your understanding of the flow of a program. That is, understand that, in the general sense, the computer must resolve the right-hand side of the equals sign to a value before it can assign it to the left.

For example, if the right-hand side is a literal value, it’s already resolved. For example, a line like name = “Joe” is easy—assign the string literal “Joe” to the variable name, when the line is run.

If the right hand side is a mathematical equation, it must be resolved to a value when the line is run. For example, for a line like value = 2+2, the 2+2 must be resolved to 4 before it can be assigned to the variable.

Then, for something like name = input(“Who are you?”), in order to resolve the right-hand side, the computer must first run the function before it can assign a value to the variable name.

It can, of course, get more complicated, where you can call multiple functions on a line, and the results of one feed into the next, and so on. But, that can be an exercise for the near future.

That’s a great way of putting it. I enjoyed it. I liked it for what it was. I’m not sure I need to see it again.

It’s interesting that you’d mention “trim packages“ here, because that’s one of the things that’s turned me off of one manufacturer.

I was seriously looking into an Ioniq 6 at one point. It’s got a look only a weirdo like me can love. However, it starts at a decent price—even if it goes up quickly from there—gets some good positive reviews, and has some decent performance. But, I like the things that I have in my current car, like a sunroof, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel. Well, in order to get those, I have to step up to 20-inch wheels, which eats into the range by almost 50 miles—or some 15%.

Can I get the premium trim line without the monster truck wheels? No. Can I get the heated seats and steering wheel (I’ll forego the sunroof) on the lower trim line with smaller wheels and more range? No. And, they’re not the only ones. For some reason, all these EV manufacturers think they have to put bigger wheels on the premium lines, and thereby kill range.

And I just don’t get it…
