Garuda absolutely nails it with their helper app that sets you up with a choice of popular software, handles updates, and gives you easy access to common settings.
It makes it very approachable for people new to Linux.

That’s fair, but as a Linux beginner, I was happy to have more software than I needed at the start rather than not enough. If you know what you are doing, I could see how you could have a different opinion.
I assume you are taking about desktop environment stuff? I installed the xfce version and it’s been pretty streamlined.
For stoic men (and maybe women, who knows?) Captain Phillips… but not till the end. It sneaks up on you.
Oh? I’m still a Linux noob, educate me.
After Bazzite I went to Garuda, is also gaming focused and has a handy helper app that helps you install common software, run updates, and more.
If you need a new distro it’s worth a look.
Garuda had the same gaming focus as Bazzite without the immutability.
“the corporation” is running it now. It’s not about people any more, it’s all procedural and goal oriented operations now.
Thank goodness we won’t have to worry about police brutality at this one!
Bazzite is great for gaming if you want an immutable distro, Garuda is great for gaming if you don’t.
I read this title as: If chat gpt is trying to kill you, you probably won’t be able to tell it to stop.
“Look buddy, we didn’t drown any slaves, we just threw them overboard all chained together in the open sea, after that what happens to them isn’t our problem”
Same energy.
Don’t let them corner you. As soon as the cops start arriving, scatter and regroup somewhere else. Waste their time.
Satanic Temple out there doing God’s work.
Maybe they aren’t very comfortable with English but know more people speak it? It’s kind of amazing how technology can let you communicate with people you otherwise couldn’t talk to otherwise.
I love Garuda, I’ll have to give it a watch. Thanks!
While doing your research, check out Garuda, it is gaming focused and I have found it extremely user friendly.
If you aren’t signed up with epic yet, they give away free games all the time, and always have several older AAA titles every year. Around the holidays especially, you can get some great games.
It’s a good way to build a PC game library fast and free.
Amazon gaming also regularly gives away free games if you have prime.
I started with Bazzite and moved from there to Garuda. Both have an Nvidia version that just takes care of that for you. I’ve never had to worry about drivers.
I don’t get it. I have Garuda, which is Arch, and it was super easy to install. Maybe raw dogging Arch is harder?
