I mentioned it because a lot of people already have a card they need to accommodate, not to try and convince you.

I mean … it’s not required. So, good for you, I guess.
After I left Bazzite I switched to Garuda, it is also gaming and performance focused, works with Nvidia, and has been super easy as a beginner.
It may be worth a look.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are there any apps that let you beam files from your phone to your computer or another phone? Idk what this would be called but it would make my life so much easier
18·6 days agoKDE connect works great with Linux. You can easily put stuff on and get stuff off your phone.
I keep looking for something better, and yes it has some limitations, but the free online version of SketchUp is the easiest and most intuitive 3d design program I have ever used and I keep coming back to it.
You need to set up a free Trimble account to use it, don’t let that stop you from giving it a try

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux is awesome at home, but aren't y'all forced to use Windows at work?
3·10 days agoKeep your eye open for opportunities to advocate for Linux in the workplace, change will come.
Windows said they were going to force AI into the OS, so I left.
I installed Bazzite, it was easy and just worked, but I decided I didn’t like immutability. So I installed Garuda, and it was also easy and just worked, even with an Nvidia card.
So now I’m on Linux and run a bunch of windows games with proton and they also work.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does everyone have an opposite gender name they would use?
3·11 days agoI’d have no idea. Yeah, there’s a feminine name I could extract from my current name, but my first impression is that I wouldn’t want that. I have no idea.
Good luck with your journey!
I just purchased the same one.

If your are considering switching, give Garuda a look. I’m also on a gigabyte board with an Nvidia card.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think 20 is too young for a guy to get married?
99·28 days agoNeither of you have ever even had to live on your own yet. You haven’t even started learning who you are as adults.
If this does work out in the long run, it will be dumb luck. You have the same chance with any random stranger.
And since no one else has said it, I will. You were 16 dating a 14 year old, that’s not ok. At that age all she can do is cosplay a relationship, that’s a child.
One day she is going to wake up and realize she got into all this before she even understood what it was, god help you both when that happens.
Is there a Montessori school nearby? They do a great job with kids that don’t quite fit the normal school assembly line.

Yeah, you can still raw dog Arch, but you don’t have to.
