8I rewatched Nope (again) this morning and it is, from a storytelling perspective, just. so. incredible.

If you haven’t seen Nope, there’s a huge twist that changes everything and nothing for the characters. Y’all know what I’m talking about if you’ve seen it.

The director wasted nothing. Everything from costumes to background details either foreshadows something, reinforces a theme, or pays off later in the movie.

The characters are great. The dialogue and character dynamics are realistic and relatable. There are some jumpscares in the first hour-ish of the movie, because it’s nominally a horror film.
