Reminds me of Heretic’s Fork.
Yeah, waiting on Hades 1’s full release was easy since it was EGS exclusive for the entire early access phase. This one’s gonna be harder to dodge until it’s done.
If there’s a personal information field, filling it with random noise is marginally better than leaving it blank. The pronouns field is new but I’ve noticed a lot of women friends (that have gender neutral usernames and profile pics, and no linked social media) opting to not use it or set it to he/him because having it filled out accurately caused trolls and bots and incels to fill their DMs.
Or the EGS phase was just glorified beta access like Hades.
The equivalents for Android, precompiled ReVanced APKs, are commonly used to spread malware. Following the instructions to patch the app yourself isn’t hard. Google taking down precompiled modded versions of YouTube but leaving patches and the the tools anybody can use to apply them is a neutral thing at worst.
Also I don’t see anyone in this thread glad that Google did this, aside from the first half of the joke / fakeout / pun post about IPA beer.
FighterZ is an actually good fighting game in the style of MvC or Street Fighter though, not the same 3d drivel with copy paste movesets and terrible game balance usually associated with anime tie-ins.
Blue Dragon on Deck would be a dream.
Pirate it. There’s no DRM. Buy it if you like it.
I thought RAID1 enabled faster reads too, because both drives have the complete file. Writes don’t get a speed bump ofc, since those are still bottlenecked by the slowest single drive in the array
Edmund McMillen’s (The Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy) upcoming game Mew-Genics seems right up your alley!
Ingredient quality does. The employee gives no fucks but if better beef is getting slapped on the grill the food will be better.
CT Bugfix yeah. Play it on a CRT and you’ve got the best experience IMO
On the flip side, I’ve been using FX file explorer for this for years with no issues, but my roommate on the latest iPhone (a year ago) encountered a pretty horrific oversight in the default Files app’s way to handle this (and no option to use third party apps).
Whenever she tried to copy more than 2GB from the network drive to the phone via Files, the phone would completely lock up and freeze (and stop transferring, which I confirmed by looking at read operations on the home server). She had to hard reboot and copy the files over multiple operations instead of just queuing up 50GB of audiobooks once and letting it transfer in the background. It turns out the Files app handles network assets by loading them all into RAM and then writing them to the iPhone’s NAND, and if you try to perform an operation that takes more than the phone’s current available RAM it just does the Apple equivalent of a bluescreen.
I didn’t buy this one. However, the biggest problems here are tied to the setting - there’s just not really a good way to do “Skyrim in space” that doesn’t just turn into “Skyrim with more loading screens”. “Space” is just too big and empty of a setting for that kind of game. Setting a sci-fi game on one planet would be fair game, or maybe even limiting to three or four fleshed-out worlds but this game tried to be set in “space”.
The next Elder Scrolls or Fallout will not be set in space. Even if the combat and role-playing systems and character writing stay Starfield / FO4 / Skyrim levels, the strengths of Bethesda rpg design won’t be completely incompatible with the setting the way they are in Starfield.
My only consoles are Nintendo and that’s because they’re all hacked. Digital preservation is possible that way.
It’s almost certainly easier for an app like duolingo to support a conlang like klingon, elvish, etc than it is to research a real language that matters. If they add something like Cherokee it’s imperative that it be near-perfect, since any errors stand a real chance of causing damage to the “endangered” language. See the whole Scots Wikipedia fiasco.
I don’t think there’s currently evidence that this new “Deck” is a Deck at all. Releasing a standing console box with the Deck’s internals but better cooling, ethernet and better wifi, HDMI/DP out, 3.5" SSD support, and SteamOS 3.5, but no screen / integrated controls / battery would make a lot of sense for Valve. And I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t probably buy one - the docked Deck has been fantastic in that role. It would probably be cheaper than the Deck since durability, battery, and screen are all likely expensive investments for them on the actual Deck.
Steam Machines failed because there wasn’t a successful base model for companies to clone, and because Big Picture mode sucked. The modern Deck UI and UX are on par with Sony/MS/Nintendo’s and you get to sell the console as “it works with the controllers you already have and the games you already bought”.
People already mentioned VVVVVV here, so I’ll go with the classics angle: the Donkey Kong Country series has phenomenal music and super tight platforming. Difficulty is a bit on the low side compared to something like Celeste, but there’s absolutely a mastery curve.
This includes Returns for Wii/3DS and Tropical Freeze for Wii U/Switch.

Nintendo’s stuff is free on day 1, or a few years after release if it’s their Wii U stuff. I think the first Wii took a year before the Twilight Hack happened.
Let’s hope they fuck up again on the Switch 2!
