Isn’t air travel and large ships far worse for the environment? I don’t mean to derail a conversation, but I suspect that air travel and ocean liners have a significantly bigger impact and I don’t see as much coverage on that issue.
Matrix is far too slow for what it’s intended to be. I’d certainly like to see E2EE come to Revolt.

Good points, I was unaware of both of those controversies. I honestly expected to have seen something as serious as this pop up in my news feeds, but I generally try to avoid hearing about drama around right-wing propagandists.
Owens is a lot of things, but an antisemite is not one of them.
I agree that most messaging services are problematic, but Facebook having Messenger is part of the moat that’s keeping FB users on Marketplace. I think offering any non-email messaging solution would be hugely beneficial. I like the Matrix idea quite a bit.
I agree. However, I think that most people won’t use Craigslist simply because it doesn’t have a lot of the modern niceties, specifically modern messaging solutions. The email system they have is pretty painful to use.
Marketplace is pretty useful. I hope a solid open-source alternative comes along.
We can talk about both issues, as I think they are both important, but I suspect that the larger issue is being ignored because it threatens establishment interests.
