Check out Shapez 2. The first game was pretty basic but I really enjoy S2 as a Factorio lite. It’s much much less complex, but there’s still plenty of room to build crazy contraptions as you unlock more stuff to build with. Most major upgrades will make you want to refactor your whole base, but after you finish delivering a certain type of shape you no longer need to make more (except sometimes as components for new shapes). So I’ll pretty regularly knock out like half my factory and make a new and improved assembly line for the new shape I need to deliver.

It’s good, give it a look. I get quite sucked into it and it doesn’t have as much mental overhead as Factorio does. There’s also no biters, which makes it a much more relaxing factory game.

I was going to say this already after reading, but getting to your last couple lines really reinforced it - hey, you’re good people, thanks for weighing in where you do. I see quite a lot of your posts in my daily browsing and they’re almost exclusively all long-form well thought out responses like this one. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you have a bad take about anything. I greatly respect your life experience and your opinions, they mirror a lot of what I’ve seen myself in the world as a generally curious soul.

Just wanted to say that. I’ve scrolled past enough of your comments where I wanted to add a quick “hey, thanks for this” but it wouldn’t add anything to the conversation. Bethesda tried this when they attempted to monetize mods. You can’t stop the signal on truly user-generated content. At best they might have a copyright claim on official DnD lore or monsters, which can be sidestepped with a custom setting, which is pretty much the whole point of user generated content.

Yeah I’ve never had this issue with Android, not least of which is because you’re able to just root it and install whatever ROM/OS you want. If Google pushes an unstable update just wipe that shit and put Lineage on it.

Apple only gets away with it because they put their users in a walled garden where you have no choice but to receive Apple’s updates on their timeframe. I quit that life in 2006 when they updated my iPod Touch into uselessness and haven’t come across the problem again since switching to Android.

This user has a long history of just saying things without looking them up. I have them tagged as such from around 8 months ago. I applaud your effort, but save it.

Dropping the demand for rentals is supposed to address this. But there is going to be a great big gap between “no one is renting” and “we can’t afford to keep this house that no one is renting” where the prices will skyrocket to try and make up costs, which kind of shoots this plan in the foot unless all the newly emancipated renters plan to pitch a tent for a couple years while the market settles.

Same, I haven’t even slightly enjoyed any other MOBA I’ve played except for Smite, but I’ve fallen in with Deadlock like it’s an old friend. And we’ve come back and won from a couple really depressing looking matches. Just the other day I was at 0/12 running Bebop with a 25k team soul deficit and once I actually got my head in the game, and got a little lane assist, we came back and won it and I finished with a 10/14 K/d.

The comeback isn’t easy, and it shouldn’t be, but it’s doable. Especially so if your opponents get cocky. I’ve been on the other side of that coin as well, going 10/0 with Vindicta and fly out to snipe without a care in the world, to discover that every enemy is suddenly paying attention to where I am.

Came here to say this. Expanse hits the notes of “real people actually live on this ship/station” way more than any other sci-fi I’ve consumed. Fast food, bars, brothels, restrooms, storage and maintenance areas, all of these are specifically called out at most stations.

Worse than that - we’re going to steal your advanced farming, irrigation and astronomy, claim it as our own, then enslave you to work on these same farms with all the human rights afforded to an ox.

Historically speaking, white people - and I say this as one of them myself - have gone through and really extra fucked up the entire lives of basically anyone we ever met including all other white people. On behalf of white people across all of time and space - I’m really sorry, bro, that shit was super fucked up. Some of us are working to try and make that better. Unfortunately some others of us are still working to make that worse.

God, it’s cable TV packages all over again. Streaming was supposed to destroy this problem, not become it!
