I think it’s great that the Spurs are taking this year to experiment. They own their pick (unlike the Mavs in Luka’s rookie year) and can be trusted to not draft a bust (unlike Lebron’s Cavs in 04). A golden opportunity to find their Westbrook/Harden.
But I also think they should start trying harder to win games next season. It’s very important to not let a losing culture take hold and stunt player development i.e. Detroit, Houston before this season.
Crazy that the rockets are already a top 5 defense, but it’s also crazy that they’re an average offense with that roster. Ime working black magic
Jokic generates an incredible number of uncontested layups and dunks for cutters. Defenses don’t even have time to foul since they’re usually focused on the Jokic post-up making them late on the cutters.
But the way Jokic elevates Murray isn’t magic. Murray’s lowkey one of the best off-ball players in the league. He’s elite at cutting, relocating, and catch & shoot. I think stars should get credit for having scalable playstyles, especially if they’re in that 16-25 range and can’t be the #1 on a championship team.
That being said this is tough since both elevate in the playoffs, and Brunson is probably the safer option.
