I feel like we need to start a movement to make Christianity illegal so that we can end on the compromise of “mind your own fucking business.” A huge portion of this asymmetry seems to stem from the fact that liberals and leftists never go on offense, so when things reduce to maximalist bullshit there no leverage in negotiating the social contract.

My first computer of my own was a wiped surplus machine my father brought home from work, with a pack of Redhat floppies and an 800 page user manual in a binder. I was allowed to do whatever I wanted on it as long as I could figure it out myself.

Schoolwork aside, none of those things are critical. I haven’t used Facebook since like 2009 and I turned into a successful, relatively well adjusted adult. I suppose there was even a good bit of porn thrown in there from time to time.

It’s fucking surreal. Donald Trump is a rapist, who appears in the Epstein files thousands of times. He’s on camera bragging about sexual assault. About this, apparently nobody gives a shit.

Meanwhile a Democrat has some women come out of the woodwork saying he was kind of a mean drunk and yelled sometimes. And now America is going to pretend like couples don’t fight. Oh me, oh my, this man once got into a passionate argument! Somebody find me a new set of pearls, because the ones I’ve been clutching have mysteriously turned to dust.

The nursing home shit pisses me off so much specifically because It’s incredibly easy to avoid but you actually have to have enough money to pay lawyers to set up trusts and annuities and whatnot. It literally only impacts people who don’t have the privilege to avoid it.

My grandfather technically died with barely a penny to his name. Just enough to cover funeral costs. All of his assets - around 2M total - had been transferred to various irrevocable trusts managed by his lawyers. The professional management cost something like 10% of the initial trust balance but that was worth it to prevent the slimebag nursing home people from getting. They got literally twelve dollars or something in probate. Not even worth the cost of the leach they sent to the hearing.
